  1. Hello everyone,

Li's green card is up for removal of conditions since it is within 90 days of the 2 year expiration. Today I mailed to the California Service Center a packet with photocopies of documents and some pics.

I am wondering what timeline others who have gone through this part of the process through CFC have had.

Is is possible to get the 10 year green card without having to go to a formal interview?

On a lighter note, this weekend we went to the Dragon Boat races in Long Beach, CA and they had entertainment, it was pretty interesting.

We also went to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Baily circus. I have not been in 35 years and she thought is was very entertaining and amazing. We both had a great time together.

    Take care,

    Larry

  2. I am a little confused on when to apply for the extended AOS. Li came here on April 28th 2006. We married on June 30th 2006 and she got her green card in August 2006. I remember that you can apply no more than 90 days before the date. Is that the Green Card issue date? I think I heard something about not going to an interview too.

Any help would be very welcome.

  3. I hope they win! :victory:

    From Fox news:

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,352402,00.html

CNN said Cafferty was expressing an opinion about the Chinese Government, but the Foreign Ministry demanded an apology and accused the network of trying to drive a wedge between the Chinese people and leadership.

Asked if China supported the action against CNN, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu characterised it as "spontaneous activity by Chinese civilians".

"We will wait and see CNN's response," Jiang told a news conference, referring to the Foreign Ministry's request for a full apology.

"We hope CNN will take this seriously, because what CNN said and did has not only hurt China's feelings, but also CNN's own image."

The many CCTV Chinese television stations run by the government and the government run newspapers I am sure had a sound bite or quote.

Why don't the Chinese people who the government states feelings were hurt let them hear all of the news. If anyone believes that the Chinese are not aware of the complaints of the U.S. it is because of the Communist run media tries blocking the internet. They only hear the sound bites on TV and the newspaper. If the government cared for the people and actually wanted to lift them out of poverty instead of strengthing the state, the Chinese would hear the whole story but they do not hear this at all. Some Chinese actually do go on the internet which I am sure their government hates and they hear both sides of the story.

Jack should not have made a blanket statement making it sound like ALL Chinese, but he was pretty much right when it comes to the Communist Government and those in the party.

  4. 67 days since eligible for interview an no P4 yet.  I see someone else on here just got their P4 and they sent in their P3 one month after us.  I'll never understand.

This was the quickest part of the process for Li and myself. After 7.5 months for NOA2 and then one year at NVC, maybe they took pity on us.

We could compare Cheetos receipts??? :)

    Good Luck

  5. Hello everyone,

Li will be coming here at the end of April and I am not sure on what to do first. She will want a drivers permit and a Social Security Card and her name to be changed legally. Her China ID won't match her new name so I am wondering what official document will be "OK" to obtain these things quickly. Her credit cards are already in her new name but she won't have an ID to use them yet. We will live in California.

    thanks,

  6. If you want really cheap airfare from LAX to HKG, consider a courier flight with Jupiter Air (http://www.jupiterair.com/courier/courierflights.html) ... about $250-350 r/t, but the JAL flight used to arrive at HKG to late to clear Lo Wu customs ... you might have to sleep in the airport until morning.

I took this courier flight once. You can only pick from departure dates Jupiter offers. Had to leave the Internatial area in Japan, clear customs, get escorted to baggage claim only to then learn there was nothing for me to courier. There's not much time between flights. And, yes, I spent the night on an airport terminal bench. No way I was paying HK Airport hotel rates.

Worse, "they" will not give you the return 1/2 of the ticket until about 30 minutes before departure! Very nerve racking. Guess which seat they give you?

:( The wing? The throne??
