  1. I suggest having the medical exam done at the Guangzhou United Family Clinic because same day results service is standard. We went there this past Sunday and were in & out with results in hand in about 3 hours. The exam there costs 800rmb. It is a very nice place and the staff is very friendly as well.
  2. OK. my fiancee had much the same experience as Rick's fiancee did, she said that her interview today was very easy also and this is how it went. Jin: Good Morning VO: Good morning - can I see your passport? Jin: Do you need my fiancee's passport also? VO: Yes - is he here now? Jin: Yes VO: How did you meet JIn: Online VO: When did you first meet in person Jin: August 2008 VO: How many times has your fiancee come to visit you? Jin: He has visited me 3 times including this visit. VO: Can I see your photos? VO: Where was this picture taken? Jin: Gulang Island VO: It is very beautiful there VO: What is your fiancee's job Jin: He is a Quality Assurance Manager with a software company VO: What is your job? Jin: I am an English teacher VO: How do you maintain contact with each other? Jin: By phone calls, emails and MSN. Do you need my phone bills? VO: No VO: (typed into computer and looked at it for a couple of minutes, then took out pink slip and attached the appointment letter to it and handed these along with my passport back to Jin). You are no problem!
  3. Yes, it was a very PINK day today - I only saw 2 whites the entire time that I was sitting in the coffee shop and the rest were all pinks. One thing all the girls did mention was that all the VOs today were men - so go figure. LOL!!! We are goinjg out to lunch right now but I will post some details including some information that I found out about applicants from Fujian (as my fiancee is).
  4. I flew into Hong Kong on the night of the 29th and the swine flu precautions there were no big deal - we just filled out a questionaire on the plane and then turned it in upon arrival. They never took our temperature or anything - easy immigration/customs procedure. I took the train from HK into GUZ yesterday and the swine flu precautions upon arrival at the train station in GUZ were much more strigent. They took my temperature while on the train and then again upon arrival in GUZ. I also got questioned by medical staff in GUZ for about 15 or 20 minutes before they let me through immigration - they wanted to know exactly were I had been for the past 7 days and how long in each place. Then I got picked for additional immigration screening and had to send my bags through 3 different xray machines. My fiancee had her medical exam today and it was a fairly pain free affair - we were probably there no more than 3 hours total and we were able to receive the results before we left. Tonight we are going to sort our paperwork into a system in which my fiancee will be comfortable with and one in which she can easily access everything and then tomorrow I will attend both ACS and ACH. Tuesday is the big day for us.
  5. Vaya con Dios - and Good Luck!!! I will be leaving tomorrow for our June 2 interview so maybe we will bump into each other while we are there.
  6. I am leaving Thursday (28th) for my fiancee's June 2 interview. Maybe I will see some of you there.
  7. My fiancee has her interview on June 2. I will be attending both ACH & ACS on Monday June 1st, so maybe I will see you there. Good Luck!
  8. Where did you get the EMS info? Like Jeff says above - it will be the EMS number which corresponds to the label that your fiancee sent in with her P3 paperwork.
  9. Hi Guys, Yes, my fiancee and I had the same problem - DOS reported that our P4 had been mailed on May 5 but there was no tracking information for it on EMS. However I am glad to report that EMS now shows that it was picked up from GUZ today, so hopefully GUZ sends these things out in batches and the rest of your P4s are now on the way also.
  10. My fiancee sent her P3 back to GUZ on April 17 and we received our interview date of June 2 from DOS yesterday (5/5). So it took a little less than 3 weeks to get our interview date scheduled.
  11. Just as an FYI to all of those who have interviews scheduled in late May or early June, the hospitals in GUZ will not be conducting the visa medical exams May 28-30 because of the Dragon Boat Festival. My fiancee has a June 2nd interview and called several of the hospitals in GUZ yesterday to find out their schedules, etc and found this out. She was told that they will reopen for business as usual on Sunday May 31 and the hospital on Shamian Island does offer same day results for an additional 100rmb - so we will be paying extra for the expedited service on the 31st.
  12. That is great news, I just called DOS and our is scheduled June 1st, I can't believe it myself. I thought you guys would beat us on getting there. I wish you both good luck and hope we all come home with pink. It has been a year of hell waiting and not knowing. John and Siyi It sounds as though they processed a whole batch of us today. So far we have interviews which have been scheduled on June 1, 2 and 11th. Here's to wishing that we all receive Pink!!
  13. Thanks for the reply Dan - that sounds great. Which hospital did you use?
  14. Congratulations!! I called DOS this morning as well and found out that our interview has been scheduled for June 2!!
  15. I called DOS this morning and found out that my fiancee's interview has been scheduled for June 2. This is great news but I thought that it would be sometime in mid June so now I am scurrying around trying to get vacation time approved, airfare purchased, etc. I need to know which of the hospitals in GUZ offer expedited service for the medical exams and how many days ahead of the interview does the medical exam need to take place (with expedited service). Do the hospitals conduct the medical exams on weekends? Thanks so much for any assistance that you can offer!!
  16. I am pretty sure that you have the interview in the country of your legal residence instead of the country in which you have citizenship.
  17. Yes, it is still the #1 Airport bus. On my recent trip to China I used the #1 Airport bus to transfer to SHA and I believe that it cost me about 30rmb. On the return leg I used a taxi which cost me 170rmb and only saved about 10 minutes.
  18. Hello all, My fianc¨¦e and I have been patiently awaiting our P3 for about 1.5 months now (still stuck in clearance delay) and have been using that time wisely to get all of our ducks in row as far as P3/P4 forms go and all supporting documentation. There is one area though in which we are confused about and that is the vaccination requirements. The P4 contents for K-1 visas listed on the GUZ website includes the new Vaccination Notice for Immigrant Visas (Rev 1/09) which lists the vaccinations required before an immigrant is allowed to enter the US. Based upon the contents of this notice I have a couple of questions that maybe some of you can help me with. http://guangzhou-ch.usembassy-china.org.cn...instruction.pdf 1. Since this notice is included in the P4 for K-1s - is it now a requirement that all K-1 applicants must receive the immunizations before their interview is conducted? I believe that in the past, K-1s had the option of either getting the immunizations before entering the US or else waiting to get them in the US but before AOS - however the immunization notice included in the P4 kind of contradicts this now. 2. Can the applicant go ahead and get the immunizations at a local hospital/clinic and then go to one of the approved Quarantine Bureau Offices, show them their immunization records and then receive an International vaccination record - or must the vaccinations actually be given at one of the approved Quarantine Bureau Offices? 0r 3. Can the visa applicant just receive the required immunizations during their visa medical exam? Many thanks in advance!!
  19. I just flew into Pudong at the height of this year's Spring Festival travel period and although the airport was very crowded it only took me about 20-30 minutes to clear immigration, claim my bags and then clear customs.
  20. I think that you should tell Al the truth for the simple reason that this is out & out Fraud, no question. Suppose no one tells Al about this and that Al & Jie hit it off and decide to get married. In that case then fraud will also be committed when the time comes to explain the evolution of relationship - after all, they sure won't reveal that a bait and switch took place during the visa petition/application/interview now will they? This is exactly the sort of thing that makes it harder for the rest of us with actual bona fide relationships to get a visa. Just my 2 cents.
  21. Haha - yes they do in fact have 2 different versions listed on their website then. I believe the link that you provided above is to an older one because it is REV 05/07 and the one listed below which is the one that I was looking at is REV 02/08 http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...ition_Sheet.pdf
  22. Perhaps there is more than one version of this form in circulation then because the version that is currently available on the GUZ website specifically asks the following on question 8: "My Spouse or fianace(e) has only the ______ relatives listed above." It specifically asks for the number of relatives which have been listed above - yet a previous spouse which it asks to be listed is not a relative. Leave it up to the government to muddy up what should be a pretty simple form to complete
  23. Hi Dnoblett - thanks for the response. Yes, I actually researched some of the past threads concerning the GIV-24 including the two that you provided before I posted mine however none of the ones that I came across actually address my noted concerns/contradictions.
  24. Hello All, I was hoping that some of you could enlighten me as to how you answered questions 6 & 8 on the GIV-24, as they both appear to contradict themselves to me. Question 6: Asks the beneficiary to list all of their relatives in the instructions but then also within the relationship column it displays an entry as Spouse/fianc¨¦(e). In the case of a K-1, should the beneficiary list their fianc¨¦e as a family member here? If so, then the next part of question 6 which asks the beneficiary to attest to the fact that they only have the X number of relatives listed above would contradict this - as a fianc¨¦e is not yet a relative. Question 8: Asks that the Petitoner's relatives including any previous spouses be listed here. If indeed the Petitioner's previous spouse(s) are listed here then this would contradict the second part of the question which then asks the beneficiary to attest to the fact that the petitioner only has the X number of relatives listed above because a previous spouse is no longer a relative to the petitioner. I am divorced (the petitioner) and just want to make sure that we provide GUZ with the information that they are looking for and where they want it but this form is full of contradictions and so I would really appreciate any and all input. Thank you so much!
