  1. After a few months of being married, my wife asked me to choose a English name for for..... So after careful consideration I gave her an English name, and she was very happy for a couple of reasons. I put a lot of thought into choosing her name and for the meaning. We even shortened it to make it a daily life name, that didn't sound so formal.

Several months later, she told me that she didn't like to have an English name and wanted me to call her by her given name. She only wants to be herself, and by being herself she has told me that she doesn't want to be somthing that is not!

So we have nick names for each other and that has worked out wonderful!!!!

The only time she calls me by my real name is when she is being serious and wants to talk to me about an important matter. so when she does that,,, I know something serious is about to be discussed!

  2. I am looking for a current Email Address for GUZ, I called the Embassy and the message gave a Address that is not correct. I need to send them information regarding change of address in China. Our P-3 should be going out soon and don't want any more delays in our case

Also if someone has a phone number that will allow me to speak to a live body without getting the run-around that would also be helpful

    Thanks, Scott

  3. I can't seem to figure out how to find where my case is or what # I need to track it. I recieved a letter from the NVC and it says.... My "I-129f K-3 was approved, and my petition will be fowarded to GUZ for processing visa cases originating in the country where you were married. This is all I have recieved regarding my approval from NVC

    INS Receipt Number MSC.............

    Case Number GUZ.................

I have not recieved any other documents, such as a " 797" #

Can someone lead me in the right direction???

  4. I have flown both, and since you are leaving from the U.S.A. I think their policy is not strictly inforced when you leave the U.S. When you travel inside CHINA domestic, they are very strict on their baggage restrictions.

When I have brought more than the allowed weight no matter how many bags, they will make you pay the overage fee per KG. Make sure you have RMB or credit card to pay, they don't except USD

I think when you fly international they are more forgiving!!!

Good Luck, and safe enjoyable trip

  6. Well from recent interviews, it seems that the ( Most precious pearl from the sea) AKA(^%#^$@)..... Is developing a tremendous amount of luster in her growth, that is a good thing from past experiences that have been posted on the boards

I think we need to let this thread rest in peace, It may be in all of our best interests

  7. I was sent a RFE for my 130 regarding my marriage certificate, Apparently the 1st Translation that I sent in with the petition was lacking a few items.

I had a chinese friend do the translation of the 1st one

So now I had a company do another certified translation here in the states, I had my wife double check to make sure that this one is correct. Cross our fingers that they accept the new one. I am only sending them a photo copy of the original

  8. I don't see the point in waiting.. I would submit ASAP.

You only have to prove you have meet 'face to face' in the last two years for a fiancee petition..  I would venture to say that many submit after the first meeting or time together...

You can view the contents of the financee package here... just follow this list and ask questions when needed:

Hank's comment about the 3032 is only if you are getting married FIRST and then submitting a marriage petition...

  9. I think the thing to do is to have some pants custom made of only $100 bills .. and wear it over there.. no one's going to believe they are real.. but you'll get a lot of looks !

That would be a sight, but it would probably use more than i'm wanting to take!!! Very funny, David!!!

Just a little reverse philosophy.. why hide it when you can wear it ! and a tip is always at hand.. uh.. on the leg at least...

I know you have to very careful in china, they are known to steal the shirt off your back, but your pants???? That would be a funny sight!!!

  10. I did the same as you.

I have taken large sums of cash with me (under the limit stated above) to deposit in my account.  However, I wear a "ski" money wallet that hangs around my neck.  If you are going to carry the money be careful.

Mark, have you ever been checked when entering China, and what kind of

"ski" money wallet are you speaking about?
