We recently got our K-3 visa, and NOW in the U.S. Our "I-130" is still at NVC, or who knows where???
My question is.....What should we do from this point foward, how do we complete the AOS???
I tried to call SS office to see what is needed for her to get a card, and they told me that she needs to file a "I-688, I-766" in order to get a SSN
If someone could tell me any tricks in applying for either of these forms that will be great.

We have another CFL successful interview
!!!!!!!!!!! My Wife has been approved for her K-3 visa!!!!!!!!!!!
She went in about 8AM and was finished by 10am, she said it was it was too quik only asked a few questions.
1. Can I see your passport
2. I see you have traveled to many countries
3. How many times has your husband been to china (9 times!!!)
4. Can I see the I-134
The V.O. that interviewed her is known for being just as hard as the pearl, He is a bald man in his 40's. She siad that he is very serious in his conduct, but was a little loose in his interview today with us
During the interview the V.O. and my wife talked and she told him that I was downstairs drinking coffee, and that she envied me and she told him that she was hungry..... He laughed and said I will hurry, he pulled out the RED slip and said your approved
I could tell my Wife was a little disappointed that it didn't take longer or that he didn't ask for more evidence
TOTAL TIME OF INTERVIEW 1.5 MINUTES!!!

I'm sure that I have forgotten to mention many that have been helpful in the past ESP MIke the MESSICAN for sending me the I-134 the other day when I realized I had forgot at home (I owe you a 12 pack of corona!!!)
I was suprised not to see more WHITE Americans in the waiting area, maybe it was just a bad week for S.O.'s to be here to support their loved one's.
We ar leaving to have a small vacation for a few days, then heading for the states on MON the 20th

It seems CFL members are on a great streak of passed interviews. This is great information but the Window 30 scenario raises a couple questions about detail. I wonder if you lose your Window 30 option if you leave the 5th floor. I take it only the beneficiary goes to Window 30 and that there is no opportunity to communicate with the petitioner between receiving the blue slip and showing the overcome documentation.
It sounds like the first thing the beneficiary should do about a blue slip is to stay put in front of the current window, read it carefully and inform that VO, if they have the overcome information in their possession. If the VO is willing, they show it to them. If not, go to window 30. Is that how you understand it?
It might be good to formulate a question about this for GUZ Speaks.
That is correct, "IF" the V.O. will allow you to stay at the window, then by all means pleed your case, "IF NOT" go to window #30

picked up the results from the exam today, and she had no problems at all..... Now waiting for Tuesday!!!!!!!

There is a terrific Italian restaurant on Tianhe Bei Rd. It is located near the Grand International Hotel. This hotel is on the same road as the restaurant. Unfortunately, I forgot its name.
However, we were recommended to this place by the conceirge at the Grand International. Maybe, if you call them they can give you the name. Their number is (8620)3880333. In addition, this Italian restaurant is just a few doors down from an awesome Thai restaurant. Some of the best Thai food I ever had. If you are interested in going back to Chinese...try the dim sum food or as they call it the morning tea located next to the Grand International Hotel. This restaurant is called the Fortune Restaurant. Funny, it is the only place I kept the box of tissue you get when dinning in China. Finally, this hotel is an awesome and very reasonably priced hotel as well. Located close to the embassy. Well, I wish I could be of better help!! Oh, found a Starbucks and Diary Queen near the downtown movie theatre and shopping mall...good luck and "Buon Appetito".

Just minutes from the consulate, we had lunch their and it was a buffet, not too bad, also looked at the dinner menu and it looked good. We may try it for dinner before we leave.

I'm sure window #30 will be a big hit in the future,
JUST REMEMBER TO TELL YOUR S.O. NOT TO LEAVE THE BUILDING
That may be the biggest thing to remember when a blue slip is issued, one's mind might not be thinking very clear at that time

I went to the American citizen hour on Friday, I got there at 2pm.... went into the waiting room that have all the windows that the interviews are done at. I was asked to fill out a form and take a number.
I was the only WHITE CITIZEN in the room, most were chinese people
The form asks for your SO name, DOB, CASE #.... then it asks if you have specific questions that you want to ask about your case.
I thought that the ACH was an open forum, and that it was for people to get familar with questions regarding the process for the interview. to my surprise it was conducted on a 1 on 1 basis with a V.O.
As I waited for my number to be called, I could hear others session with the V.O.'s and their problems, nothing that pertained to me, so I didn't focus in on their problems, but could hear very clear. The windows are very thick glass with a mic on both sides, and a slot for passing things back and forth.... Just like a bank!!!
After about 30 minutes my # was called, I went up to window # 25 and was greeted by a young 30's american fellow, which I could tell he was happy to see a white face!!! I handed him my form and he asked what can I do for you. I told him that I had a few quetions about our case..... and then he looked at his screen on the computer, and said.... oh.. I see you have emailed several times, and that you made a change of address... he then said thats good.
we started talking about the visa pickup time and how accurate they are to have them completed and delivered, he told me that 99% of the time the visa is at the china post the evening before, but you have to pickup on the day of your scheduled pickup.
We started talking about many things such as the most recent trend of denials, for K-1, K-3, CR-1.......He said that if a middle aged chinese woman with 2 teenage kids, recently divorced met a guy from NY that doesn't have a good job, and barely meets the REQUIREMENTS, he said that would raise a red flag, most likely they would be denied
another reason he told me........ If 2 people are in a relationship and the chinese person cannot speak english, and the american cannot speak chinese.... That is reason for not having a valid relationship " How can you have a relationship if you cannot understand each other, how do you communicate on the phone?"
The last bit of advise I got from the 1 on 1 was..........
If your SO, Wife...... gets a blue slip, they will tell you why they are they are giving it, with more evidence that is needed for overcome
The V.O. will give a list of evidence needed to proceed, and if your SO or Wife has all the items on the list with them at that time, they can tell the V.O. that they have all the items they are requesting. Make sure that they ask the V.O. if they can step aside and gather the items and return to the window when they get them gathered.
The V.O. that I talked with said that is what he does if the person tells him they have all the overcome evidence at the time of interview.
He also told me "IF" someone is denied, and they don't tell the V.O. they have all the evidence that they are requesting. HE SAID.... TELL THEM NOT TO LEAVE THE AREA AND GO TO WINDOW #30 THEY CAN RESOLVE THEIR CASE AT THAT TIME.
I had a enjoyable time talking to the nice V.O. and we talked about many different situations, and also had a few laughs too.
He told me that it is true that they only see the case minutes before the interview, and NEVER GIVE THEM ANYTHING THAT THEY DON'T ASK FOR!!! They don't have time for you to disrupt their process they have certain ways for conducting the interview.

I would like a change from Chinese food, and I know that GUZ has many places to eat that are supposed to be good.
We are staying at the building next to the consulate which is called downtown area, if any of you have been here lately and have any good experiances with great places to have dinner that would be great.

We went to the hospital for the medical exam this morning, and we were thare at 7:45am.... Their were about 6 people in line before us. My wife went to the front of the line and was talking to a person behind the counter, then she was whisked off to start the exam!!!
It took us a total of 45 minutes from start to finish, we are going back tomorrow to pick up the results.
Oh BTW... my wife told me the reason she got to be first for the exam is because she paid the extra 100rmb for faster service

Still not sure if we will be able to make it this time? I found out that we need to do some business in her hometown after the interview, so we might not leave China till the 20th or 21st...... I would love to make it if all possible!
I'm leaving for China this coming TUESDAY, I may be out of touch for awhile. I will try to give you an answer before we leave China!!!

Dear friends: I have a gentleman's bet with my American friend here in China. He says a Chinese person (let's say a lady) can travel to the U.S. on a tourist and marry an American (man). I say this is fruad and can lead to expulsion and/or jail for one or both parties. I've seen this answered elsewhere on this forum, but can't seem to convince my friend. Please tell if this is legal and- if not- what are the legal ramifications. If SO, how can one go about doing this? Thanks you! Aaron

Well I call the DOS today and am expecting the same asnwer i get for the past 12 weeks. She starts our saying the case is still pending...But interview date of June 19th. Umm June 19th? Are you sure it is JUNE 19? I practialy spell it out. She says yes and I note some attitude in her osama bin laden accented voice. I say that dont make sense, an interveiw 4 months out? She comes back with, "that is all you need to know!" Talk about seeing RED! I tried my damndest to get in that phone and choke that bitch! Anyway, I calm down and realize that this is the same person that keeps telling me to call the number in china because they need to talk to me.
So my wife calls me before she goes to bed, as always. I tell her what happen and she say we got interview that is all that matter, maybe some time away but is ok. We are together in 3 days, I leave thurs morn on my 3rd trip, and then not much longer after that I come to you. I go from ready to kill and torture and kill some more to just smiling at this sweet woman's outlook.
Has anyone else heard of this, interview 4 months away? I already plan on calling tomorrow to get a differnet answer. Oh they also siad the p4 mailed out on friday.
Try calling back and get another live body to talk to, I have called back after not being happy with the answer I got from one of those accent speaking people. The 2nd time was much better customer service!

I heard its pretty ghetto in GZ. Theres people trying to rob you and your papers after the interview. And wanting a ransome. Anyhow, im going to the interview with my wife. Thinking about wearing my backpack up front and having a small lock. You know lock the paperwork in the bag. And be ready to kick some a$$ if anyone messes with us. What are your experiences? We will stay at a hotel very close to the consulate. Your feedbacks are greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have heard of those kinds of things happening, but it seems that if you look like you are a easy target it will happen. My wife is very very careful and has her martial arts to protect us if something should arise..... I've never felt scared in the 8 trips to china, but you can never let your guard down.
We are also staying at the building of the consulate, and I hear that the operaters of the hotel are very nice, and I'm sure they will be watching our back!!!

I just looked up my home, and it's about $225,000 below market. I live in a very fast growing market that values are unbelievable.... Good for me!!!
One thing also to consider is that it is in a new area only 1.5 yrs old

I would like to come to this meet-up, We are due to get our visa on the 14th of March. If everything is successful we should be back in the states on the 20th

When I travel to China I usually fly UNITED from SFO-PEK. I have made 14 flights of the 16 on UNITED. I have had great luck, except the last few times there were delays due to mechanical problems. But they issued some kind of travel voucher for 100.00 towards any UAL flight in the US only, which I don't mind.
I generally fly business class which is much better than coach, if you have a chance to fly business it's worth the money. If the flights are overbooked they usually ask if you would like to upgrade to business for a small fee.
The meals are pretty good, which they serve 2 full meals, and snacks through out the flight.
The crews vary from really really nice, to a bunch of old hags that don't give a damn. My overall experiance has been very pleased with their service, and the flights are usually on time.

If you do decide to give her a English name, you may want to consider....
In choosing an English name
1. Find out the meaning of her Chinese name, and look for an English name with that meaning.
2. If possible find an English name that starts with the same letters of her Chinese name.
That is what I did, and she was grateful for me doing the research. She still wants to use her Chinese name for now.

We have an approved "I-130" But it has not been sent anywhere since I got the 797 notice of approval. I thought that they would send more info regarding the rest of the process of the 130.
I called USCIS and the told me they sent some paperwork in OCT??? They said they sent paperwork to myself as well as my wife, we never recieved anything.
So let me understand something???
If a I-130 is for a CR1 visa, once the interview is completed and a visa is issued, does one also have to do AOS??? or is it done automatic with the completion of the CR1
