  1. when my fiance said ' I love you' to me ... I would say ' me too!' lol

    enight,

I remembered where Avon is. It is just northwest of Hartford, CT. It is semi rural with lots of nice homes. I believe, the agricultural part on UCONN is not to far away. That is the University of Connecticut. Hartford is a big city and is known as the insurance capital of the world. There used to be a lot of industrial manufacturing there, but I think a lot of that has left the State. You will like CT. The people are very nice and the schools are excellent. They have 4 seasons and you will see snow and Ice in the winter. You are about 2 hours drive to Boston, if I remember correctly, and about 11/2 hours from New York City.

Burnside Is a little town along Lake Cumberland. Hot summers and tourists

grace the country side. The locals sit down at the local store and talk about

the weather. Very southern,I have that southern drawl. My students could hardly understand a word Id say,Ken would say "Your english is not Standard" Then he would babble to Lynn in Chinese. I like Penn State I cant spell Pennsylvania> Or can I?

    Not 2 from boston though.

  2. Well, bless you Joseph-1.

You've put into words what so many of us have also experienced.  I've never felt that Chinese or Asians were submissvive.  They're honest and what they think and feel they say.  Is that bad?  No, but it does make some of us Citizen embarassed and sheepish that we've forgotten what real honesty is.  Stay with her and good luck.

So many of us put on a face that we shouldnt. That true honesty can reveal to us the flaws in our charachter that we hide even from ourselves.

I am fortunate that I found a partner who wouldnt let me sit on my bum.

I wish Id found her years ago.

  3. when my fiance said ' I love you' to me ... I would say ' me too!' lol

Chinese girls dont say, they do. She said I Love You,by cooking for me,and

the way we held hands watching TV. I learned to be patient and speak softly. To smile and say Shi Shi. Thank You. To use chopsticks, and when she took me home to meet her family. I was taught with the things I had to know. She is like a little drill seargent. But I passed muster. All the time she was saying to her sister, I Love the way he wont give up. I Love her family, and I live my greatest dream.

  4. When we talk on the phone I say I Love You. She says "Thank You".

Chinese girls are not like american girls,or are they? My beloved is not what I expected when I first went to China. She is assertive, strong willed and has a toungue like a razor. But on the other hand she is naive charming and the prettiest site I have ever seen.

A far cry from the stereotypical submissive asian female, she is educated and motivate.

When I first told my friends that I was going to China to meet a girl Id found on the web,Im sure they thought that Id lost my mind.

I was raised in southern Kentucky, and had never been on a jet before. Here I was on my way to China. My dad asked me" If they bust a cap on you.do you want us to bring your body back to bury. He meant "If the communists shoot you. I went from living in rural Pulaski County to Guangzhou China and forever changed the way I think and live.

It was a leap of faith, somthing that can be described in religous terms, but could also be described as the last desperate hope of a man who felt his back sweating against the wall.

Im 38 years old and have never been anywhere or done anything more that shop the 127 yard sales. In the wake of the 9/11 attacks almost nobody was happy to get on an airplane.

I thought to myself,It cant get any worse than the life I live now. I have this chance to get up and out. I get a thrill out of riding the edge and in some off key way I see myself as a pretty courages fellow. It was like being in a movie. I came over to Hong Kong on what we call a courier flight on October 31,2001.The plan was to come to Hong Kong and then take a train to Guanzhou east station. There she would meet me and show me a hotel. I arrived in HK late at night and stayed at the Hotel Concourse for the night and caught the high speed train to Guangzhou the next morning. I called her from the station and she came from work to meet me. I had to use the bathroom while waiting but nobody could understand what that was.I had just about lost control when she arrived. I later learned to say toilet. When she arrive I asked "Are you Lynn? She said yes. She was so small,I couldnt believe my eyes. I stood 12" taller and 205 pounds. She looked at me like a skyscraper. I thought Oh my God Ill squish this girl if Im not carefull. But My what a pretty thing she is. We were in a state of shock for a month. My first priority was to get out of the hotel" too expensive". She intoduced me to Ken,who wanted an english speaker to live with and practice english. Ken was very nice, but I was determined that we needed a place of our own. She said that is not the way the Chinese behave. And I had only brought $500 with me. We just didnt have the money. I started looking for a job. My first job was teaching english, and I borrowed 2,900 Yuan from Stephen who managed the training center. Lynn saw my determination and chipped in the remainder of the money and we got an apartment. It was the begginning of the

adventure that will continue in marriage to the lady I love. An adventure in

    becoming,for both of us.

  5. Hello Everyone,

I have heard several different opinions on this question.  However, does anyone definitely know, if when flying back from China, can we (american citizen) go through the same line (immigrant) our fiances go through?? This would make it easier for the fiance, and possibly even help getting the Employment Authorization Card.

Also if there are going to be any problems, this is where they will start!!!

    Hello,

As I was coming through all the border from china to HK to New York,

I asked questions. I was told that as long as my girl has her Visa she will have no problems. She will take a courier flight from HK. I may have to send her a copy of her ticket to transit HK. But otherwise I have been told that having the visa is all the difference.
