  1. I dont know how long it has been around, but QQ does have an English interface. You can download it here: English QQ For non-chinese readers, it might be a little difficult, but I can try to help. After you click the url and it loads you will see all the menu stuff at the top and then below that you will see ¡°QQ English 2004¡°. At the right side you will see 2 gray buttons. click the top one which says µã»÷ÏÂÔØ ¡°dian ji xia zai"(click to download£©. This will take you to another page. In the middle of this page all by itself there will be a link which says ÐÂÀ˱¾µØÏÂÔØ¡°xin lang ben di xia zai" (Sina local download). Click that link and a window should come up asking if you want to save it. Save it and after it downloads open the file and install it. I think it works great. My wife and I use it every day to talk and we even bought web cameras so we can see each other. The audio quality isnt perfect, but it is definitely acceptable. And its free too. Hope this can help someone
  2. I went to Macau a few months ago. As an american citizen I had no trouble at all getting there. No visa is required and I took the ferry from Shenzhen. The trip took about an hour and it cost 100rmb if I remember correctly. It also only took about 10 minutes getting through customs. My wife(chinese citizen) however, couldn't make the trip without a visa, which she had to get from her home town where her hukou is. Money exchange is not a problem at all as several places do accept rmb. Also you can go to one of the several casinos there. They can exchange many different currencies into HK$ or patacas. Hope you have a good time.
  3. It seems like several people either live in Shenzhen or their SO's live there. My wife lives there and I spent about 8 months there myself. It would have been nice to find some others in our situation while I was there. But on the other hand, my wife would love to offer help to anyone who needs it in Shenzhen. She would also love the opportunity to practice her english
  4. oops, you are right, that should be 12/7 approved. thanks
  5. I just wanted to share. Our I-130 was approved yesterday by the CSC. It took them just under a month, which was very cool. From what everyone has been posting, it looks like CSC is comparatively really on the ball. I wonder if we really can get the CR-1 before the K-3. Also I just typed out my timeline. Is it too much?
  6. Thanks for the info guys, I do like the web page with the processing times. It gives me a little more of an idea about how things are going. Is there anything else out there to give me an idea about how long it will take after CSC and NBC get around to approving the applications? Thanks for reading, Billy & Jessica
  7. Ok, i just have a couple of questions. First of all this forum has been tremendously helpful, I only wish I had found it earlier. I just received a notice that our I-130 was transferred to the CSC and that the estimated time is now "990 to 990 days". Is that really possible that it could take nearly 3 years? My next question is that they estimated 60 to 90 days on our I-129, but it has already been over 105 days and no news yet. I keep calling the number, but apparently I cant talk to a human until its been 120 days. My wife is really becoming disappointed, and to be honest, so am I. She keeps saying it will take another year, but I think i would be crazy if she isnt here by then. We knew we were in for a long wait, but it really sucks when they give you a timeline and then don't stick with it. Sorry for venting, I know there are others who have waiting much longer than us. Thanks for reading, Billy & Jessica
  8. Hi everyone, Ive never posted here before, but I have found alot of helpful info. I have submitted both the I-130 and the I-129 for my wife. I have received the initial notices for both, but nothing else yet. My wife is considering moving, and my question is what kind of paperwork would that involve to give the proper notice of the change? And also, would that make the wait longer as well? That would greatly help us with our decision. Thanks for any help in advance. Billy
