  1. Congratulations!!! Hope the interview wasn't 4 hours! At least this part is over. Good luck!
  2. Similar story here. I called a local clinic listed on uscis website and the attendant told me she has been doing this for 25 years and that I was obviously confused and even insisted I take an immigration lawyers number down after I had read her the instructions from the I-693 instruction file! This Dr Arnold sounds interesting ... My wife is worried about multiple immunizations and if this Dr Arnold will be legit. She doesn't have her immunization records since she had these when she was young in school. Will there be a problem if she has these shots after she had them when she was young?
  3. Sorry for the late update. We've been busy moving and settling in. The interview was the typical with only one point of interest to mention. Our situation did involve us meeting a month before my divorce decree was signed by the judge. To give some historical info, I was seperated and living in another city from my ex for almost two years before the divorce was filed. It was filed a few months before I met Aiwen and my ex was already in a relationship with another man before I met Aiwen. The reason for the late signing of the divorce decree was that the divorce lawyer became involved in a capital murder case and a divorce case was not high on his priority list. It went to court on the last day before being thrown out and the lawyer came in and signed during the lunch break of the punishment phase of the capital murder case. Are you still with me? So after studying may cases here on CFL I decided to go to the courthouse and get a certified documant showing when the divorce decree was filed and included it in our kitchen sink. During the interview the VO noticed that we met before the divorce decree was signed and asked about this to my wife. She was prepared and showed the certified court letter that I had brought for the interview. After that the VO was satisfied and asked for financials and gave the pink slip. Another possible intersting story to tell is when I went to ACS to get my evolution of relationship letter and letter describing the lengthy divorce notorized. The man took my documents somewhere for about 3-5 min. while I waited and then he returned and notorized them in front of me. I do not know what happened when he went away. Made a zerox? had a VO supervisor read it? I don't know. I can't say that having these documents notorized at ACS helped any. I do know that the interviewing VO did not ask to see these during the interview. Anyway I want to say thanks to CFL for all the great info. I do believe that had I not found this site and studied the many cases here we probably would have had some trouble somewhere down the line. xie xie ni jim

  15. Whoa! I replied without reading all the thread. Time for a coffee break people?
  16. We usually eat chi ba (sp?) for breakfast in china. I discovered that I love Chinese breakfast! The 1st time I was there it was for work and where I stayed they had free breakfast. I really like eating noodles, dumplings, vegetable, rice soup with chopped green onion (and dried shrimp if available) My wife likes western breakfast sometimes (actually I think she just likes the spoiling more) so we have an agreement that on weekend mornings I will make her bacon, eggs & biscuits (I'll make my grandma's homemade buttermilk buscuits if she's nice to me) They melt in your mouth! I can't wait to make her a tex-mex dish I like called migas, scrambled eggs with green onion (I add saut¨¦ed mushrooms) corn tortilla chips, shredded cheese and picante sauce on top. WOO HOO!!!
  17. On one of my trips to China I picked up a couple of Chinese cookbooks that were written in english. 1) "Chinese Home-Style Cooking" edited by Bai Ziran, Written by Wang Jinhuai & Xue Yuan (I REALLY REALLY like this book and if I could have only one it would be this one.) 2) "Learn to Cook Chinese Dishes Vegetable" - published by Foreign Languages Press and has a forward by Zhu Xijun (this is a great vegetable only book and is written in both Chinese and English) I also found this book in the US at Barnes & Noble that I like but would find it difficult to use had I not had the 2 books mentioned above to practice on 1st "The Thousand Recipe Chinese Cookbook" by Gloria Bley Miller (this has sooooo many dishes in it and good sections on techniques and alternative ingredients)
  18. I was thinking on doing this also. I'm not finished with the evolution of relationship letter yet and it is 6 pages already! I thought that I would write a detailed and honest letter and send an email to GUZ asking if I can send them this before the interview so that they would have time to read it. Do you think this has any chance? I am also thinking on making a shorter more summarized one to offer up at the interview and have the "book" ready if they want it. I have organized the long letter in sections with bold titles to each section like "1st meeting", "decision to marry", "2nd meeting" etc. but the letter is still long. Another question: Is it a good idea to describe in the evo letter your quarrels with your SO and how you overcame them? Just wondering. I put one in just so the letter wouldn't sound fake like couples never argue. I'm not sure if the VO would be interested in anything like that. Maybe it's not PC to do this? Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Congratulations to you both!!!! This is so much better to read than the blue slip stories. Good luck on your new lives together!!!!
  20. CONGRATULATIONS!!! Will you be changing your user name? Now you both can begin living a "normal" life
