  1. Dear CFL, We are the happiest couple in the world today!!!! Wifey passed the interview on 4/28 and now has the K1 visa in hand!!!! It arrived by mail today. The wait is over!!!! She will arrive in NYC 05/15/05, a year and a week after I sent in the petition. On 4/28 after her interview we were a little upset to find out about the new mailing process, which took effect that day. They said it would take at least 4 days by mail, but it arrived today. CFL is awsome! We couldn't have done it without the tremendous wealth of information and experience of the memebers. Our wish is that everybody can be as happy as we are!!!!
  2. Dear Most Wise and knowledgable CFL Membership, My fiance went to pay her interview fee today. We thought it was 2,980 RMB, but when she went to the bank, they said they don't accept "Immigration VIsa Fees." They do however collect the non-immigration interview fee, which is a considerably lesser sum (don't rember the exact amount she told me). We are now confused because it is not explicit in P4 either. Seeking help :-) now. Can anybody tell us how (in Shenzhen) and how much to pay? Thanks, DA64
  3. Hi everybody, Have visa interview 4/28 - after hearing various horror stories over the past year (and suffering some of our own), I don't want to think too far ahead. But we were wondering one thing... What is the best cheapest way for my fiance to ship her household items here? There is nothing too too big, but she wants to bring more than you can check on an plane or one of the large boxes at the China Post. Any ideas? What about import duties? We will be so excited to have this problem!!!!
  4. Hi have a couple last minute questions before the interview 4/28/05: 1 - My fiance is sick with a bad cold, and wants to go for her medical exam when she is healthy. How soon before her interview does she have to have the medical exam? 2 - With all due respect to traditional Chinese medicine, is there any medicine that will throw off her exam results - i.e., produce a false positive for drugs or other problem? 3 - Does she have to have her certificate of intent to marry notarized before she goes to the interview, or does she just sign it at the interview? And please wish us luck!!!!
  5. My fiance is filling out the Chinese DS157, In Quesion 8 it askes for my name and address. Do they really want my name and address in Chinese? She is fluent in english (english major in college), but has no idea how to write my name and address in Chinese. Anybody thoughts on this? Is a translator needed?
  6. Hi Nooneufo, Just for the record... We recieve Package 3 on 8/13/04 and sent it back on 8/15/04. GZ entered it into the system on 9/1/04. The problem was that GZ said the OF-169 for was missing (only after I emailed to find out what was taking so long). So we sent OF-169 again and they confirmed receipt on 12/15/04. Also, by that time all the name checks were complete, and we were immediately put in the que. We just wish that someone would have mentioned that the forms was missing, as I was regularly contact with the DOS for updates and they never mentioned it. *****LESSON LEARNED - AFTER P3, THE DOS ONLY KNOWS WHAT GZ DECIDES TO PUT IN THE COMPUTER, SO EMAIL STATUS UPDATES TO GZ ARE BETTER THAN THE DOS***** Anyway, not sure what date makes the most sense for your tracking. But, we definately feel like we were in limbo for a while. Maybe the 12/15 P3 date you put is o.k. But we feel like a 9/1/04 P3 that was delayed. You see, I have obviously thought about this way too much!!!! Thanks Again, DA
  7. Wishing you both the best, and pray that god brings you together!
  8. Awsome news!!!! We got P4 3/16/05. Interview 4/28/05. Thanks for doing such a great job tracking - DA
  9. Hi everybody, My honey woke me Wednesday morning with the most awesome news – she received P4 (Wed 4/16/05) and her interview will be 4/28/05. We are soooooo happy and a little relieved, because we have been waiting in GZ so long - p3 was entered into the system 9/1/04. Thanks again to everybody who gave us advice and supported us when we started to worry!!!!!
  10. Oh yes - and nice job putting together the numbers!!!
  11. Dear Nooneufo, Just thought I would add a clarification. My P3 was actually entered into the GZ system on 9/1/04. It somehow fell through the cracks at GZ and has now been there for 5 Months. I was informed that it was pun in the "que" ready to be scheduled as of 12/15/04. Just trying to keep the numbers accurate. Our application will probably drag down the average!
  12. Dear CFL My fiancé and I have been an avid “watchers” of CFL for months. I would like to say thanks to everybody for the tremendous insight into the K1 process that has resulted. Unfortunately, it is anger and disbelief which compels me to be a participant. A little background… Our case was registered into Guangzhou 9/1/04. However, recent correspondence from GZ said it may take “months” to schedule and interview. So I wrote to my Congressman. His assistant contacted Guangzhou. They replied that her case is completed and “In the queue”. Their best guess is that she might interview in May or June. They said it is because of the backlog. But I see from the wonderful CFL members that most Sep P3s already have P4. We are very happy for all of them too. But regarding our own case, we are very shocked, saddened and angry now. One reason might be because in Late November GZ responded to our request for a case update saying that the OF-169 was missing (see timeline below). I’m certain we sent it in w/P3 back in August. The frustrating part is that I was in regular contact with them the whole time and was never told anything was missing, prior this late-November correspondence. However, we immediately sent them a new OF-169. It was logged in mid-December. They said our case is processing “normal” and not delayed as a result – just the normal backlog. It looks like to us that we indeed are being handled more like a December P3, unless it is something else. GZ didn’t even acknowledge my request to expedite our case. It feels like we have been put back at the end of the line, have to wait all over again, and very unfair. We are both just shocked and beside ourselves over this. Has anybody ever seen this before?? Any insight would be sincerely appreciated. Our Timeline: 05/07/04 - I-129 Sent 05/12/04 - NOA1 06/03/04 - NOA2 06/08/04 – rcvd NVC 07/08/04 – NVC snt to GZ 08/13/04 – P3 rcvd 08/15/04 – P3 snt to GZ 09/01/04 – P3 in system 10/22/04 – Name checks 11/28/04 – DOS “still not in que” no more info 11/29/04 – GZ sd OF-169 missing 12/15/04 – “in the que” XX/XX/XX – P4 XX/XX/XX – Interview ("maybe May or June")
