  2. I am sure u will get EMS soon!! SuZhou is a nice place. Last Saturday I was there and had my cocktail dresses done there. Nice place and nice people!! Best wishes to u!!
  3. I just came back home from GZ. I and Ella booked the same flight coming back Shanghai. We have a really good time!! Owen's wife and Ella and I , we all got our visas in the morning. Since Owen's wife and I , we are IR1, we only have a visa bag( sealed), no print on our passports ( that is why we can get our visas in the morning, don't need wait till 4:30pm). Today everything goes through smoothly. I am so happy to meet all the nice ladies!! Yuhui (Eric's wife) is such a pretty lady, I recognized her right way ( since I have seen her pic on web before she was surprised why I called her name Owen's wife ,she is so nice lady, very kind and thoughtful I spent the whole afternoon with Ella. We had luch together and afternoon tea, just so happy and sharing our love stories. Finally I can have a nice and deep sleeping tonight Wish everyone can hear good news soon!! Best wishes to all!!
  4. sure, it will be my great pleasure to share my experience.
  5. Thank u all my friends!!! I just got up ( acturally I didn't go to sleep until 2 o'clock in the morning ). I will pick up my visa on Monday in GZ and my husband has booked the tickets for me on 3/8. I will be quite busy this following week. My husband wants me to go to US ASAP. We miss each other so much( over 2 years waiting, and finally I can feel better now). Best wishes to all of u!! Thank u all my friends and this great website!!!
  6. I just arrived home from SUZHOU (another city near Shanghai). When I walked in the door, I found my EMS was on the table!!! Unbelieveable!! Since my cousin was at my home today (use my computer to do some homework), she signed the EMS for me and left a message on the table. My EMS was sent out 2/28, I got it on 3/1. Now it is 1:30am my time, but I am too exciting to sleep. I have been waiting 2 years for my CR1 and almost 7 months after my interview. Finally I got my EMS. I appreciate this web cadle for love ( for all the information and all the encouragements). Best wishes to everybody!!!
  7. Stella, you don't need to do anything as of this moment. Your CR1 is a conditional green card. Just take whatever GZ give you and get one the plane!!! Once you are here and you pass your 2nd Anni of your marriage, you need to file a form -- forget the # to removal the conitional status. go on ins web, they have all forms ready to download. After you have been a legal resident in US for 3 years with your current husband, you are eligible to apply for citizenship. Hope this answers your question Thanks Charlotte!! My 2nd Anni has already passed last Nov in China. That is why make me think about my CR1 should be changed to IR1.
  8. Congrats, Owen and your wife Rose!!! It is really happy to see people get visa. Though I am still waiting ( 8/5 interview), hope this is a good beginning. I have a question to ask u, I will appreciate if anyone can help me. My husband applied CR1 for me in Jan.2001. And so far I have been married over 2 years and still waiting for my visa. Will my CR1 visa be changed to IR1? The GZ embassy will change it by the time I go to pick up my visa? Do I need call them to ask them to change my CR1 to IR1? Or the time when I enter the US custom I should ask the VO in the custom?
  9. I am happy for you Charlotte!! It seems everything is positive. I am sure your daughter will get EMS pretty soon. By the way, do you when was your case sent to GZ from US after cleared? Then we can imagine it will take how long for GZ to enter in the computer after they received the clearance. Thank u!!! Best wishes!!
  10. Changing last name only requires your marriage certificate. For SSN name change, you may want to submit a ceritfied copy. It does not hurt to get several certified copies from the court house when you get married for your immigration process and future name change references. Since my name is almost a full name change, I only gave them a copy of the INS name change document they sent me. To avoid confusion: it is advisable to put a comma next your last name and then first name, i.e. Yao, Min. It is difficult for Americans to figure out the what you last name is when you forget to write family name last. Yes, it is legal - I was even tempted to use Xi-Klein as my married name then. Hope this answers your questions. Thank u Charlotte!!
  11. I hava a question. I am CR1. Do I need EAD card when I enter in US? I married over 2 years. And I heard from someone, it said if the people like me CR1 and married over 2 years ,once I enter US I will become IR1. What's the difference between Cr1 and IR1?
  12. I'm not an expert on this so I might be wrong. The way we plan to do it is marry first and change name at that time so that my name is her name on the marriage certificate. Then we will apply for all documents: social security card, state identification (driver license) and so forth. This way, we can use the marriage certificate along with the Chinese passport and visa for identification. Am I on the right track here? thank u for your reply. I am CR1. I married with my husband in China. So the name on my marriage lience is my Chinese name. Maybe it will run differently when I enter US. I don't know about it. If anyone has the same experience like mine , it will be great to share his experience with me in this issue. Thank u.
