  1. PRAY FOR YOU?? You are the August anchor man!! The last guy in the relay race. The book makers refuse to lay down odds!! Otherwise I would plunk down serious cash on this easy win!!! You are the icing on the cake....The month of August has been pefect as far as CFL goes AND you are the one guy who has left nothing to chance. I may not have many favors owed to me by the "folks up there" So I have to put them to good use... I pray for your happiness in the future together. meanwhile enjoy your time in CHINA!!! 15 minutes??? what the heck was she doing??? what questions did you ask? Mike B) One question I asked was both Mei and I are Chinese and we speak the same language which is Mandarin. I asked her and also kind of reminding her that will this have positive impact to prove the marriage is bona fide because we don't have communication problems at all. After the question, she started typing like crazy. When she was typing, she paused a little bit and asked me when I was neutralized. Then she kept typing again. She again paused and asked how many trips I made to China and reminded me to bring the boarding passes and the passport stamps for the interview. This looks like to me a pre-visa interview. This is the reason that I believe ACH could be helpful for the case. Surprisingly, Mei is very confident. I tried not to show my nervousness. Thanks for all the encouragement. Steve and Mei
  2. Hi, it was nice talking to you Monday at ACH. Good luck with your wife's interview. You have very nice pictures. My wife Mei's interview is on 8/31. Steve
  3. Hi all, Mei and I are at Guangzhou now. Interview is set next Monday 8/31. I went to ACH on 8/24. The conversation was very constructive. She seems is a visa officer and she is a white american woman. After listening to my questions, she brought up my wife's file and continued typing for around 15 minutes to her file while we were talking. Now I do believe ACH is important because she typed a lot of information into the the computer and I believe the interview offcer will see the information. Mei is very confident. Please pray for us. BTW, ran into another memeber of Candle Love at ACH. Steve & Mei
  4. Hi, Do you mind telling us why your CR-1 was denied? I know it's very painful to go through the denial of the visa. The information you provide here might help many people. It's perfectly OK if you don't want to share the experience with us and we will understand. Thanks. Mei
  5. Hi Dan, Congratulations! We are very happy for you. Thanks for posting your detailed interview experience and I am pretty sure it will help a lot of people here. I am leaving in 4 days. Mei and I will fly down to Gaungzhou from Senyang on 8/23. You have a pleasant and safe trip home. Steve and Mei
  6. Hi Yan, Again, congratulations and welcome to the U.S. ¹§Ï²Š…ͨ¹ýÒÆÃñÇ©Ö¤, »¶ÓŠ…À´ÃÀ¹ú. Thanks for sharing the information with all of us. Mei (õ)
  7. Congratulations! Mike. We are so happy for you. Hope it's our turn to get the pink soon. We are counting down. 7 days to China. Mei & Steve
  8. thanks...I'm stressing a little. Thank god for my Yan. She is amazing! She knows how to relate perspective. She promises to bring home the Pink. Knowing full well that her friend in a nearby city just got blasted with a white slip due to inability to communicate, Yan remains totally calm. I'll be very glad when this coming week is over. You are not going with her? Steve
  9. Mike and Dan, 8/13 and 8/17 will be the day for you guys. It will be a pink day for both of you. Go get them. Stay calm and you will be fine. I will be here watching. I will leave on 8/21. Steve and Mei
  10. and if gods attention isn't with us, then watch out GUZ! Tomorrow or next day Okie2 will let us know their mood, in 2 weeks me, then Dan & Juan. After a long dry spell of CR1 interviews, you will have good information. I think what sucks is no longer anything to do, or write or interact about.....just wait and not snap out!! Getting off work was easy for me, making travel arrangements was easy (if not cheap) Juan will make the GUZ arrangements for her air and our staying there, so now leaves preparation here now, I have been practicing questions, and got letters from our mothers, had her work on a lot of fringe documents and translations, even if we dont use for interview is helpful for her adjustment here, I found a new place to live and spent the day Tuesday starting to move stuff to my storage for staging to move when I get back. I still have to print out so much, I am going to use my days off this week to print out a lot of stuff, and print pictures there always seems to be something else to do. Hi Dan, I am happy for you that you got your place. I have been busy writing the evolution of relationship letter. Have you done it? I also got a neat photo album ready to show. Everything else is ready to go here. I will fly to Senyang first and we'll fly down to Guangzhou together on 8/23. I'll attend ACH on 8/24. Steve & Mei
  11. I like that. I'll type the letter and have it notarized here free in the state. It shouldn't make difference whether you typed or wrote. Typing seems look much cleaner and more formal in front of VO. I just canceled the appointment of notarizing my document in ACS. This thread is one of the most helpful thread, there is just so much important information in it. Thanks. Mei & Steve How can you get notorization for free? And when do you give this Evolution of Relationship letter to the consulate? During the interview? you should get it notarized in Guangzhou during Amercian Citizen Service, this way it would give the VO a chance to read it and possibly make your interview more eaiser....... again possibly... Hi, After reading a thread from visajorney.com, I think you are right for this one. I could just get notarization for free at work but I have changed my mind again and I will have it notarized at ACS. We have a notary at work and it's all free service. Also many banks will give free services. Here is the thread: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=210581 This is the cut and paste from the thread: "I'll tell you my personal experience. There was no ACH the week of my wife's (then fiancee) interview so I went to ACS for the purpose of having an Evolution of Relationship letter notarized for my wife to take with her in case she was asked. I handed it in at one window and was sent off to pay for the service then came back and waited a bit after handing in my receipt. I was called up to the window and had a very good talk with a VO. He brought up my wife's file on his computer and was kind enough to look through the letter. He noted some areas that they sometimes have questions about and I was able to give him further info relating to those questions while he typed into my wife's file. At the end he told me everything looked good." Now, anything is possible but if you have the chance even it's a slight chance to improve the success rate of getting you the visa, will you do it? I will do it just in case even I have to pay $30US to get the letter notarized in ACS. This is powerful information. I saw one thread here in candle love that the one who did the notarization for him was not the VO and the lady also said VO won't do the notarization at all. This is conflicting information. IMHO, anything is possible. You just have to judge from all the information what you read and decide what's best for you. Steve & Mei
  12. I have recieved a letter from Vermont Service center. The letter basically says that since we are married so the K-1 case is no longer applicable and they will not review the denial of our K-1 case. The case will just remain on their file. I replied to re-affirm that it's correct that our CR-1 is pending so the K-1 is no longer applicable. We didn't tell them we are married, they simply found out from our approved CR-1 case. Steve & Mei

  14. Our physical files were in Chinese custom for 47 days. Took another 2 weeks for Guangzhou to acknowledge the receiving of the files. This is a CR-1.
