it's suggested you wait 2 weeks before applying for SSN at a SSA office, as it takes some time , once she's come in via POE, for the gov computers to catch up with her. as to marriage certificate first - hey - it depends on the state - what are your county's requirements for ID for a marriage certificate ? i haven't really check yet... i know time is right around the corner.

Step by step for after interview and move to the states?
lili4680 replied to Melanie's topic in AOS & Immigration Challenges
Ya, I thought you could get that done, partially, at the medical examination place. BUT - they'll issue her an international vaccination card, normally referred to as 'the yellow book'. If they don't issuer one to her, you can ask to have one made, for an additional small fee. With that in hand, after the medical exam, if there's any more shots she needs, you can get it done at a hospital, almost any hospital, that administers 'those' shots. i see, i think the medical place did ask my fiance, but we didn't to do it at that time. i guess we have to either go back there to get it done again or come to the states do it. -

oh i see i see.. thanks for the help... i'm just preparing for the arrival. one more question on vaccination record, can we get this done in China? and where (place where the medical exmination was done for package 4)?? -
to clarify, for k-1 visa, once arrived in the states, we can just go to the SS office to get the number? or have to get the marriage certificate first then go the social sercurity office get the SS#

got details from my fiance, he came out from the interview before 11:30, he was the last two ppl before lunch time. The VO was a black gentlement, the whole interview was in Chinese, since thats what he requested to be. VO didn't ask for anything expect pictures, which we prepared about 25. he went thru all of them, asked the ppl that were in the pics (which pics we took with my parents and his parents together when we had the engagment party) and other pics of me and him .... and the matchmaker lol..... he asked several questions: what's my job in the states? when and how we met? if my fiance ever been to the states or abroad? what's his job in China? i think there are few more, can't remember now. (sorry)... after all the questions, the vo started writing notes, couldn't see what he wrote of course, then a translator came, asked all the same questions in Chinese again (don't know why they did that). after the translator was done with all the questions, the VO goes you got Pink¡£ then he asked the transltor to tell my fiance that "economy is bad in the states, hope he works hard when he arrives in the states and support his wife".... haha.... they both laughed. my fiance also told me that 3 ladies infront of him got rejected, he had a bad feeling, but he said be confident and answer all the question to the point everything should be ok. think he is going to pick his visa sometime this week, he is off to see his family in shenzhen, i'm sure he is having lots of fun there... since he got pink...... p.s..... thank you for all your help and support.....

OK You - when you get a moment (this evening?) please give a write up, write a time line into your signature block (under my controls). Is an easy way to 'pay it forward' ... I hope, his visa will get out in the mailroom tomorrow, else it's gonna be a loooooongish wait. Warmest Regards... he hasn't told me the details yet.... his calling his family in China right now... time line..let me figure it out and do it.

Hi lili4680, I don't know why you are thinking of failure for the I-129F, but if you want to think about it....than If the I-129f failed...hope not... You can go with a CR-1, however, I would keep all your options on the table...So like you said marry your so, but I would file an I-130 and than after approval file an I-129F for K3. This way you have two different petitions going through the system. And for Ling and I both petitions were approved at the same time and sent to NVC. The I-129F was only at the NVC for 5 days and the I-130 was halt at the NVC. The I-129F was very short to Guangzhou, but if I had been rejected for the K3 in Guangzhou, I would still have had the I-130 to pursue....so leave all your options open.... \ Also all of us folks on CFL would like you to fill out a time line. The time line is so the folks can keep track of Visa processing. It is usually done in your signature file, and look at mine for an example or any of the other members. Tom and Ling thank you for the support.... today is the date.... i'm so nervous... god ....... thank you again!!!!
