Getting the 129 to Guangzhou

Recommended Posts

hello All,

Looking for a little help in figuring out where i stand in the K-visa loop. As you can see from our time line, we have received notice that we were approved

for the 129 and it was sent on to Guangzhou. I was able to finally get through to NVC and get my GUZ case number. when i contact GZ they tell me they

have not received my paperwork yet.

So my question is

Can anyone give me a idea how long it takes GZ to receive our paperwork and get us in the que?

Thanks in advance

Have you obtained your NOA2 yet? After it is initially accepted at the first agency, it is then sent to the national visa center (NVC), and you get a NOA1. Once it is approved there (a security precation due to the fact that China is considered to pose a significant security risk to the US [i can not understand this one at all, but it is the law!!!]) it will THEN be sent to GZ and you get a NOA2.

If it already has passed by there, people here have talked about ways to track the DHL tracking number of the shipments. There are other threads already online about that however.

GL to you. I recommend getting on the phone and asking them what the status is (but do so nicely, as the phone operators really have little say in the whole process)!

Call the NVC back and ask if your security check is done and get the date your file was sent to Guangzhou. Then call DHL 1-800-225-5345 push the right buttons until you get a human. Ask for the tracking numbers for packages sent from the NVC in Portsmouth New Hampshire zip code 03801 to The consulate General in Guangzhou China postal code 510133. They will give you tracking numbers for one to five(or more) packages. Follow the packages originating in Erlanger Kentucky, these seem to be the ones with our files. Then go to the DHL web site and check the tracking numbers. Your file might still be in clearance delay(DHL warehouse) which is why Guangzhou says they do not have your file in there system. You should be able to "guess" where your file is at this time.

Average time for Security Check at NVC is three weeks, if there are no problems. Average time from date shipped to Guangzhou to reciept of P-3 is about fortyfive days so your looking at two months total.
