I remember these from when I taught at the University in Yulin. Six students in three bunk beds in a room with barely enough room for one desk. A students possessions were piled up at one end of their bed.

SHANGHAI — The building is only 12 stories high, but there are more than 3,000 students living inside the dormitory block at Beijing’s Renmin University of China. Most who have studied in China have experienced life in such accommodations, with six undergraduates squeezed into each room.

Although more crowded than what I have experienced (by 2 per room), it looks like they were having as much fun. The sap really flows in the Spring.
