It should be passing by us later tonight or early tomorrow, with tree-rustling winds and some rain.

 

China has mountains, which dissipate any typhoons almost as soon as they hit the shoreline, although we had a hurricane pass "over" (literally - no hurricane-force winds were seen in Yulin, although I did see some hurricane damage in mountains to the west, as far west as Nanning).

 

The Consulate is closed tomorrow, as are most schools. Schools may also be closed on Tuesday.
