Chinese condoms are ‘too small’ for Zimbabwean men, health minister complains

One Chinese manufacturer says it is considering making its contraceptives in various sizes after hearing complaint from the African government official

 

 

 

“As to the different demands from customers such as in Zimbabwe, Daxiang, as a Chinese manufacturer, has the ability and the obligation to make a contribution, so we have started to do some surveys on users’ data in the region to make preparations for future products with different sizes,” Zhao said in an email.

Zhao said that customers around the world had different requirements, with Chinese men preferring thinner condoms while not worrying about the size, while customers in North America liked a softer contraceptive.

Jan Wong, a Chinese Canadian who lived in China and eventually became a correspondent for the Toronto Globe and Mail, wrote a book named Red China Blues. A very funny and yet poignant book.

 

She tells the story of meeting a doctor in China who specializes in penis lengthening. Apparently the size and length of Chinese penises is a well known problem within China to the extent (sorry, couldn't help it) that they could not impregnate their wife. Well, you can image what that looked like.

 

The doctor would cut the ligaments along the inguinal sides of the penis, and it seemed to work. Several testaments were told, including a Chinese man very satisfied that he finally was able to have a child. Imagine how his wife felt....

 

The doctor's name was Dr. Long.
