Passport renewal and 10 year visa

Hello. I hope all are doing well. The summer is almost over and the time is going by quickly. I am looking to buy tickets for a trip to China for the end of the year. I have a question. I am not sure but I may have even asked a question about this topic already. I did a search but did not find any. I only have a few empty pages left in my passport. Less than 3 pages. My ten year Chinese visa is good for another 8 years. So I guess I will have to get new passport before my next trip. I believe that I read that my old Chinese visa is still good but when I enter China I will have to present both passports. My concern is will the punch holes thru my US old passport cause me any problems? . Those hole punches will appear on my Chinese visa page. Thank You for any replies. Danb

You should be okay doing that - maybe someone will come along with better advice.

 

I wonder if you could go to the Chinese consulate in the U.S., or the PSB in China to get a replacement visa?

 

If not, it might just be worth your while to get (pay for) a whole new visa.
