KevinNelson
Does anybody know what the best, most secure, and most cost effective method is for sending this document to my wife? She had to go back to China before the document arrived, so now I need to send it to her. All I can find are USPS services that are at least $50. When I lived in China, my dad sent me something using those USPS services. It was supposed to be fast, but he spent over $80 US for an envelope that literally took three weeks to arrive. How does one ship with China's EMS here in the States? Also, does anybody know how soon after someone receives the I-751, the ASC appointment notice for fingerprinting arrives? Thank you,Kevin
Randy W
USPS Postal Express Mail International hooks up to China EMS, providing U.S. door to Chinese door tracking. EMS is a global consortium under the auspices of the UN. Both China and the US are members, as are the postal services of most countries. There is a U.S. Express Mail Service for domestic deliveries, so they use the Express Mail International moniker instead. The cost is about $27 China to U.S.- you can check the USPS web site for prices going the other direction. USPS Global Express Guarantee is more expensive and hooks up to FedEx in China, which doesn't have nearly the coverage that China Post and EMS have. Randy W
I'm fairly certain that both Priority Express International and Priority Mail International hook up to China EMS and will provide the door to door tracking. https://www.usps.com/international/mail-shipping-services.htm Don't forget to use Chinese characters for the address - attach a separate label, if necessary. Use the China EMS site for tracking once the package is in China - http://www.ems.com.cn/english.html?COLLCC=90400792& Edited May 12, 2017 by Randy W (see edit history)
MikeandRong
And clearly print your wife's cell phone number above the Chinese address. If there is any questions the delivery people have, they can and will call her and get it worked out so it can be delivered promptly. (You do not need the 01186 numbers, just her in country cell number).
