pandacatfish
Hi all,For the i-864, my joint-sponsor filed an amended tax return (1040X) in 2014 and I can't figure out how to report the "Total Income" for Part 6 19.b.Is it a problem if I use the "Total Income" from his 2015 and 2013 1040 tax returns, but the "Adjusted Gross Income" from his 2014 1040X tax return when I fill in Part 6 19 a. b. and c.?If it is a problem, how do I figure out what the "Total Income" was for 2014?Thanks in advance for any help. This group's posts have been incredibly helpful and encouraging! Link to comment
dnoblett
Total income, only if used 1040EZ when filing a return would you use adjusted gross income. This is per page 6 of I-864 instructions. If you can and have the time it may be easier to get IRS tax transcripts, this will show the amended total income. Lastly the most recent return 2015 is of concern, so if in 2014 a 104EZ was used, then use the adjusted gross income on that line. Link to comment
pandacatfish
OK, thanks. To be safe, I'll go ahead and download and print the tax transcripts and use the amended Total Income from the 2014 transcript. I'll update the post if my wife has any problem with the i-864 at the interview on the 24th! Thanks again. Link to comment

Thanks again.I have called IRS and ordered them before, by mail once which was quite quick, and another time by fax, which is same day. Last I knew the online system has been discontinued due to security concerns. https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Link to comment

Greg.D.
I had a real tough time getting the online system to work recently (though it worked for me before), getting locked out of my account and not being able to reopen it for weeks. Running out of time, I called for an appointment and got one for the next day. It was a breeze, though she told me I should go online for that and I told her 1) I had been trying every day for 3 weeks, and 2) I absolutely neeed my transcript the following day for a USCIS appt. She was kind, understood, gave me my transcript and wished us luck. 1 Link to comment
