Lhasa, Tibet
The Potala PalaceSituated on the Red Hill of central Lhasa, Potala Palace is the highest ancient palace in the world, reaching 3,767.19m (12,359.55ft) at the topmost point. Potala Palace is composed of 2 parts, the Red Palace as the center and the White Palace as two wings. The Red Palace or Potrang Marpo is the highest part in the center that is completely devoted to religious study and Buddhist prayer. It was painted to red to represent stateliness and power.

 

 

 

 

Guilin, Guangxi

Fengjie, Chongqing
the Three Gorges is the most amazing landscape. It is one of the top ten scenic sights in China. Starting from Fengjie County in Chongqing City in the west and ending at Yichang City in Hubei Province in the east, it is composed of Qutang, Wuand Xiling Gorges from west to east, thus the name "Three Gorges". The Three Gorges presents visitors with different views. Qutang Gorge is grand and magnificent. Wu Gorge is noted for beautiful scenery, and Xiling Gorge is struck by its abruptness and boldness. The branch rivers such as Daning River, Fragrant Stream and Shennong Stream are equally to visitors' liking. Rowing on the river, one will feel like traveling in an enchanting Chinese landscape painting. A large number of celebrities in history have left poems in praising its charm. Recently as the completion of the Three Gorges Dam Project in 2009, a quantity of scenic sites have been submerged or removed. But at the same time, the rising water makes some originally narrow gorges reachable. Many new sights emerge.

Taian, Shandong

Mount Taishan (Tai Shan): The leader of the 'Five Sacred Mountains', Mt. Tai is located in the center of Shandong Province, lying across the cities of Tai'an, Jinan and Zibo. Its main peak, Jade Emperor Summit, which is within Tai'an City, is about 1532.7 meters (5,029 feet) high. It epitomizes splendid Chinese culture and was listed in the World Natural and Cultural Heritage List of UNESCO in 1987. In ancient times, the first thing for an emperor to do on ascending to the throne was to climb Mount Taishan and pray to heaven and earth or their ancestors. It was said that 72 emperors of different dynasties made pilgrimages here.

 

 

 

 

 

West lake, Hangzhou

Three Pools Mirroring the Moon (̶三潭印月)

"There are islands in the lake and three are lake on the islands." On the south side of the largest of the three manmade islands in the Outer Lake, there are three hollow stone pagodas rising from the water, each with five openings. The three stone towers were first built in Yuanyou 4th year (1089) of the Song Dynasty, with the wonderful scenery of "one moon in the sky having three reflection in the lake", it is one of the wonderful scenes of the West Lake.
