DONGYANG, Jan. 19, 2016 -- A woman wrapped in thick winter dress rides in Dongyang, east China's Zhejiang Province, Jan. 19, 2016. Most parts of China will experience a rapid drop in temperatures along with snow and rain in the coming days as a strong cold front is on the way, and will disrupt travel for the upcoming Spring Festival, which falls on Feb. 8 this year. The National Meteorological Center said temperatures will drop sharply in northwestern, northern and northeastern China, with temperatures in some areas down by up to 14 degrees Celsius. Snow in Guangzhou!

 

Guangzhou saw its first snowfall in 60 years, with residents flocking to the streets to play and build snowmen.

Hell freezes over in Taiwan, 15 dead as cold front sweeps across the island

China has geared up to cope with the winter's coldest weekend as the worst cold front in decades sweeps across the country. The national observatory raised the weather warning level from yellow to orange on Saturday morning.

My wife's city of sultry Nanning had a dusting of snow and ice rain this past weekend.
