Interesting comment from China In this news story from BBC. It states: "The head of China's weather bureau has warned that the country faces serious problems as a result of climate change.

Zheng Guogang has admitted that it is already raising significant issues."

I wonder how China will deal with their weather related problems? Danb

Wasn't some lady planting trees in the desert fairly effectively?

I wish retired doctors and lawyers in the USA who own old farms, cleared many years ago, would replant. If your not going to use it.... besides the trees over time would renew the land for farming again, if needed.

A noble effort but I think it will take a lot more work , money and people to solve some of the environmental problems they are facing in China. I have visited Beijing several times. I was amazed to read about the approaching deserts and to read about the dust storms that Beijing experience several times a year. If global warming is real and a threat to us I think that the future generations and not just China but the world's will have a lot of fixing up and cleaning up to do. It is a sad prospect. Danb
