Huaxia Road, Zhujiang New Town (near Exit B1 of the Zhujiang New Town subway station, Line 3 and Line 5)Tianhe DistrictGuangzhou, China And is this location the one for Electronic visa applications? The letter we received suggests it's a specific location for electronic visa interviews. "To obtain the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's address and contact information, visit usembassy.gov and select CHINA - MAINLAND: GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC from the list ofwebsites. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate in GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's website will include its streetaddress and contact information." You go here and there is no GUANGZHOU ELECTRONIC's website, so I wanted to be sure. Thanks! Link to comment

Randy W
"Guangzhou Electronic" is the "embassy" which uses the GZO prefix in the State Dept. processing. "Guangzhou" is the "embassy" which uses the GUZ prefix. They are one and the same "embassy". Link to comment
dnoblett
Actually the only US "embassy" in China is in Beijing their is a US consulate in Guangzhou. Embassies are only located in national capitals. Link to comment
Randy W
Actually the only US "embassy" in China is in Beijing their is a US consulate in Guangzhou. Embassies are only located in national capitals. Except when they're not. That discussion is pretty much academic for our purposes, since we go to whichever serves our needs, usually the consulate at Guangzhou. Special Cases and Unique Situations Though it might sound simple that consulates are in larger tourist cities and embassies are in capital cities, this is not the case with every instance in the world. There are special cases and several unique situations making some examples complicated. Edited June 15, 2014 by Randy W (see edit history) Link to comment
