dnoblett
Surprised neither Mandarin or Cantonese is dominating any states! The 3 states has most Chinese immigrants, which state are those? New York shows as #1 With Utah and Oregon as the other 2, they tend to not distinguish between Mandarin and Cantonese, they clump together as "Chinese" For the most part Cantonese tends to be more common in the long established communities like New York City, San Francisco, and Vancouver due to historically most immigrants came from Hong Kong, but where Immigrants came from Taiwan, the language is Mandarin. An example of predominant Cantonese is Toronto Ontario Canada due to Hong Kong's former Crown Colony status. Link to comment
