Full question wording: Overall, do you think of China as more of a partner of (survey country), more of an enemy of (survey country), or neither?

A poll released by Pew Global shows the countries that see China as more of a partner, more of an enemy or neither.

Surprise, surprise: Japan topped one of the lists, with 40 percent of Japanese respondents considering China as an enemy to the nation. The Philippines came in second with 39 percent of participants responding "enemy", the same as Italy. Turkey came in at number four with 36 percent, followed by Mexico (24 percent), the US (18 percent) and Lebanon (18 percent).

On the other side of the scale, a whopping 82 percent of Pakistanis see China as a partner. Seventy-eight percent of people in Senegal also consider China an ally, the same figure with Malaysia (although this may have changed within the past month).

In neutral territory we have Britain (72 percent of people polled responded "neither"), France (69 percent) and Israel (67 percent).
