Dog Stays by His Companion

This is a sad, but tender story about the love of one dog to another. This story is particularly touching to me as last week as my friend and I walked to the store she noticed a cute little white dog walking the sidewalk without a leash. He then suddenly made an attempt to cross the street directly in front of a fast moving car. We were all shocked by what we saw, and even more so that the driver didn't even attempt to stop until people yelled at him and stood in front of his car.

Pictures of a dog faithfully watching over his canine companion who had been killed by a car in China have become a hit on the internet.
The sandy-coloured 'Good Samaritan' pooch stayed by his friend's side, despite his pal's body lying in the middle of a busy road. And he refused to move for a whole night as temperatures plummeted to low as -13C. Some people who live and work nearby saw the pair and decided to put a stool next to the animals to alert drivers and avoid a second dog death after the first accident on December 22.
Passers-by took pictures and put them online, and the images have been re-posted many times. One woman called Ma Hongyan said: "It is our stool. A kind-hearted woman put it next to the dogs to protect them from being hit again by another car." Another onlooker in the city of Yinchuan, in the region of Ningxia Hui, said: "The drivers must be careful and not hit them.
Yínchuān is the capital of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, People's Republic of China, and former capital of the Western Xia Empire of the Tanguts. It has an area of 4,467 km (2,776 mi) and a total population of 1.99 million. Its built up area is home to 1,290,170 inhabitants spread on 3 urban districts. The name of the city literally means "silver river"; the character for "river" (川) is the same as that in Sichuan, but not as those in, for example, the Yellow River (黄河) or Yangtze River (长江).

That was a really moving clip. Dogs are some of the most remarkable creatures on this planet, both dometic dogs and wild canines like wolves, African Wild Dogs, foxes, coyotes, etc. They are very intelligent and certainly capable of deep emotion.
