Chinese-Born English Words

This seems to be a frequent topic in the Chinese press these days, especially about the word, 'tuhao'. They just don't seem to grasp the nature of the English language, and that the Oxford dictionary includes EVERY word used in English - over 600,000.

China's new hot words "Tuhao" and "Dama" may be included in the new edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. The words have caught on in China, and they are now spreading around the globe. To date, about 120 words of Chinese origin have been added to the Oxford English Dictionary and have become part of the English speaker's language.

Now that's funny! The Chinese must consider 'spreading' to mean they are dropping leaflets with their "trendy" words around the globe. But, apart from the Xinhua news writer, and the desperate to fill white-space Oxford Dictionary no-one else is paying attention.
