More blasts - no indication yet as to whether this was an accident. West, Texas is actually in Central Texas, near Waco. Last I heard was 70 dead.

Possibly 75 are dead from the fertilizer blast in Texas. It is still not known if was an accident or a delibrate act.

They're now saying 5-15 known dead, but emergency response crews are going door to door looking for victims.

Lots of folks stop there to buy pastries at the Czech Stop. http://www.czechstop.net/ I did a few times over the years.

 

Finally I-35 was being widened around there as it was always a traffic jam. I recall teens cruising a little in the town and it did seem pretty tight nit. It made front page headline news in Czechoslovakia, so they say on the radio.

 

A night shelter was set up, but typical no one showed up. All went to friends or relatives houses. They say they will keep it open tonight just in case.

Ambassador Gandalovič goes to Texas

The Czech ambassador to the US, Petr Gandalovič, is in West, Texas providing assistance to Czech-Americans in the wake of Wednesday’s devastating fertilizer plant explosion. According to local police sources 15 people were killed in the blast, over a hundred were injured and many people have been left homeless. West has some 2,700 residents and is home to large community of Czech immigrants. A number of Czech-Americans are reported to have been among the firefighters who fought the blaze.

Looks like they shot one suspect and the other is on the run.

 

On a side note, something is happening the morning in Niagara Falls NY where they stopped a Massachusetts platted car with four suspicious packages, may be a thwarted terrorist attack on the falls.

The cops had to kill one of the bomber suspects. His brother Dzhokhar A.Tsarnaev is still at large.

Lock down now in Boston communities. I am two miles from the crime scene (Watertown, MA). It is crazy here. Hope they find the young kid now. Need to go out food shopping.

I think it is strange to lock down a whole city looking for one man/boy. Yea this guy is a physcopath and should be dealt with according when caught. It is like martial law has been declared by the government in Boston. I hope this not a dress rehersal for things to come.

His brother who was killed had a suicide vest. Over 100 rounds of gunfire and grenade were used last night. This guy is dangerous.

Would enjoy reading some of your personal experiences during the ordeal Tony.

 

I watched events unfold here in China by live-streaming news coverage. From my perspective, I felt a good deal of pride for the post-911 law enforcement in the USA. There is no greater legal and law enforcement system in the world. It will send a loud and clear signal the the families of these two cowards who postulated conspiracy theories before the capture of the second brother.

Early morning in April 1972, after Richard McCoy sky dived from a 727 with 500K, I was driving my cousin's borrowed car from Provo to SLC, UT to look at a used car, so I could get the heck out of Dodge. I got stopped at a road block and detained, since they said I fit the description. The cop gave me a hard time, even though I was cooperating and once it was announced, in code, that I was clear, and I asked what it meant, he taunted me more before letting me go. But I've seen this before from Utah Troopers, and one real ass in Texas, whom I reported.

 

Wonder why some citizen didn't blow those guys brains out from the window of their home as they passed by? Probably be arrested for murder, and discharging a gun in the city limits and such.

 

Other than all that, glad they got them. Good work.
