ama537621
I am working on my Fiance's laptop windows 7 with chinese language pack installed. All of the programs that we download from China show up as garbled text when they are installed. If anyone else has had this problem and has found a solution please let me know. Or if anyone knows where I can get a Chinese windows XP SP2 operating system that would also be good. Can a moderator please move this to stateside. I sent it to twisted candle by accident. thank-you Edited April 25, 2012 by ama537621 (see edit history) Link to comment
dnoblett
Need to fake the application into thinking it is being installed on a region localized copy of windows. There is a MS Utility called APPLocale for windows XP. http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=13209 How to use on windows 7: http://www.wfu.edu/~yipcw/atg/microsoft/applocale/ Link to comment
dnoblett
Note Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise edition has the full support of foreign languages and should not give you problems installing Chinese applications if the operating system is set to full support of Chinese vs just the language support through the language bar.
