Send passport to hotel?

This may have been asked before. I was wondering if you can have the passport sent to anywhere you want? In particular, if we were going to stay in GZ after the interview, could we have it sent to our hotel in GZ instead of our apartment in Tangxia?

The consulate will mail to pretty much any address in Guangdong Province, I would suspect may be able to mail to the hotel, though have not heard of anyone doing that, in all cases I have heard of where waiting in Guangzhou, it is normal to have it sent to the Post Office near the consulate.

 

Others have had it mailed to the Yangs located in the same building as consulate, and the Yangs then mail it to where ever is convenient, for a small fee.

To be honest, the only reason I thought about doing it that way was to hopefully shave some of the time off. Though, I wonder if it would really save that much as compared to sending it to Tangxia, which is just on the other side of Dongguan.

Um - I think you have to pick it up at the post office, due to the identification requirements, no?

 

Yes - the Yangs will do that for a fee.

Sent mine to the Yangs - It cost 300.00 RMB, if I remember correctly for them to process it and ship it to Wuhan (at the time the consulate didn't mail to Wuhan directly) using the same EMS delivery method

Good to know. Now, if only I could get NVC to cough up my AOS and IV Bill and we could move forward.
