Tom2009
Hey friends,Ling and I are planning to travel back to China at the beginning of February. We found a decent price for airline tickets via China Eastern at $897 per round trip ticket. I was wondering if we need to change her passport to her married name? She is currently holding her 2 year green card w/ married name and her original Chinese passport with her given name. Thanks!Tom
Kyle
I don't think it's needed but you might want to take supporting documentation such as a marriage license with you if questions arise. This isn't an uncommon situation. Nice picture BTW
dnoblett
No need to change name in passport, however make sure you book airfare using the names as they are in passports, so her tickets should show maiden name. Is recommended to carry a copy of marriage cert just in case the name difference between passport and green-card gets questioned.

griz326
Yeah, this was a real nerve-wrecking issue for us too. I guess that's what happens when you give bureaucrats power over something that requires only commonsense and a computer.
