Turbo SS1414
We got married last week. I am trying to get the I-485 submitted and trying to get her on my work benefits at the same time. I have a couple of questions 1. She has a SS#. Will she get a new number now that we are married? Does the SS office require that we are through the I-485 process before they will give her a new one or do they just need to see a marriage certificate? 2. What is the current fee I need to send in with the I-485 application. I cant seem to find an updated fee chart? I think thats it for now. Probably will have more questions later. Link to comment
dnoblett
1) The SSA assigns a number for life, it will not change. If card has maiden name on it and wishes to get one with married name, SSA probably wont re-issue a new card until having an EAD or Green-card showing married name. 2) Filing Fee :$985. (Add $85 biometric fee for a total of $1070, where applicable. See the form instructions for payment details.) You must make your check payable to Department of Homeland Security. http://www.uscis.gov...00045f3d6a1RCRD ($1070) Link to comment
