pokie
My 2-yr green card would be expired in November, now I just found out that the most important evidence is my name has to be shown on the mortgage contract! But I havn't been working since I moved out here,is it possible or hard to add my name on the mortgage? Edited August 4, 2011 by pokie (see edit history) Link to comment
dnoblett
Name on mortage is just one piece of big picture, in my case we do not own a home or rent a place, so we did not have anything like that. Being added to a deed is not a requirement. Provide other evidence of living together. Link to comment

I am sure this varies from State to State but in Arizona in order to add some one to a deed, you essentially need to 'sell' your home from you as an individual to the two of you as a couple. You do this for a nominal fee (~$10). It is a simple legal matter. My question is whether mortgage companies allow you to do this or if they are going to want you to refinance your mortgage? Well,we havn't contact the mortgage company yet,but am pretty much sure that they would convince us to refinace,,, Edited August 5, 2011 by dnoblett Fixed Quote Tags (see edit history) Link to comment
