DCF - pay the visa fees at the consulate or CITIC

Recommended Posts

The instructions on our P4 letter are not clear. They just say to pay the fees prior to the interview. But where?? I saw several posts from 2005 and 2006 that they just paid everything at the consulate window, but I'm not sure if things have changed or not. The letter appears to be different. In 2005 it clearly stated that the fees should be paid in cash. Our letters say no such thing.

So where do we pay for our visa fees? CITIC bank or on interview day?

Only fees for non immigrant visas like K1 are paid at CITIC, immigrant visa fee are paid at consulate or NVC.

Yup, In fact, the majority of your fees are paid when submitting the I-130.

Hi Curt,

We just started our process and filed the I-130 at the Beijing Consulate.

Besides the $420 that we paid to file the I-130, what are the other fees you have paid along the process? I'm trying to make a budget.

Chris

Visa fees paid to consulate are:

  • Immigrant Visa Application(For Immediate Relative and Family Preference Cases) $330
  • Immigrant Visa Security Surcharge $74
  • Medical and vaccinations fees paid to medical center (Budget $400 or so)

On savings when doing DCF is NO fee for processing the I-864.
