Turbo SS1414
Ok so I got my NOA2 last week. Based on what I have been reading, the NVC will send me a letter (including the I-34) saying they received my packet next correct? Then (hopefully) soon afterwards they will send the packet to China? Then the embassy mails packet 3 to my fiance correct? My fiance has changed her address since we mailed in the NOA1. I heard some bad stories here about trying to change fiances address with the NVC and for some reason it doesnt get changed. I heard its better to change her address with the consulars office in China. But how will I know I can call the embassy to change her address? I dont want them to get the application and turn around and mail out packet 3 to her without me having a chance to change her address. So what I assume I should do then is get the DHL tracking number and when I see its delivered to China, call them up and have my fiances address changed? Link to comment
dnoblett
Nope, NVC has nothing to do with K-Visas, they simply assign a GUZ case number and then forward the case to the consulate. Later when the consulate eventually receives the case, they then send out a packet (P3) to beneficiary in China which contains Instructions, DS-230 part 1, and I-134. MORE: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm You can download the I-134 from USCIS.GOV prepare it and attach financial evidence to it like (Past 3 years IRS returns, or IRS transcripts, Copies of recent pay stubs, and a letter from employer..) then send this over to beneficiary to have ready for interview. Recommended to do this after beneficiary receives the instruction packet (P3), closer to the interview date. http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=fe3647a55773d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD Call NVC a couple weeks after NOA2 and get GUZ number, you need to talk to a human, the automated system will not have it. Once have GUZ number you can email updated address to the consulate, http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/immigrant-visa-unit-question.html It has been reported that the consulate sometimes telephones beneficiary to confirm address.
