I'm Ready to Start the Paperwork

I just got back from my second trip to China to see my girlfriend and am ready to start the paperwork for the K-1. I've looked at timelines on various websites, though, and am still confused about what all is required upfront. What do I need for the initial application? By the way, my parents are going to be our co-sponsor. Do I need to factor that in yet?

Joint sponsor only come up at the time of visa interview, and perhaps late after marriage and for adjustment of status.

Lastly look for "Front Loading" topics. Some front loading is a good thing to do with the petition to address possible red-flags.

 

Things like photos together should have a few with the future in-laws.
