march
I have read and studied Tine& Ella's posts about visitor visa, very helpful. I still have some questions . I would like to invite my parents to US for 2 months. However currently i am a green card holder and i have only 1 year tax return. Do you think it would be a problem to be the support? How should i file I-134? should i just complete the form with the signature and send to my parents and let them bring it for the interview? What is the difference between b1 and b2? which one should i apply for my parents for visiting me in US? Thank you Link to comment
dnoblett
Yes any Citizen of Legal Permanent Resident can provide an I-134 affidavit of support, and yes it is sent to person applying for visa and they bring it into the consulate when interviewing. B-1 is Visitor for Business B-2 is Visitor for Pleasure as in touring, and visiting family. Link to comment
Randy W
Minor point here - the I-134 need NOT come from a US citizen or LPR. Self sponsorship is possible, and may make sense in some cases (especially for student or tourist visas for a non-relative). Remember, though, that you want to show BOTH funds available in the US, and strong ties to your home country. Link to comment
