What does one need as far as forms to fill out to request family member to come to USA? Is it the DFS-157?

You can provide an I-134 to show where and how may be supported while visiting.

 

Foreign citizen fills out a DS-160 and applies for a B2 visa at the nearest US Consulate, or embassy in Beijing.
