The US Consulate in Guangzhou website - updated

Recommended Posts

I noticed over the past week or so, that GUZ gave their website a face lift. It also seems like they've beefed up their FAQ, giving more information than what was previously offered. It may be worth while browsing through it, especially if you are starting the visa process. I've found new tidbits of information throughout the website that, either wasn't there before, or, I just missed. Regardless, the format, although similar to what was there a month ago, does seem to be organized a bit better. In the process of updating their website, it seems many links that you've and I have bookmarked are now broken. At the very least, it may be worthwhile to update your bookmarks.

Is this a new URL for their site? https://guangzhou2.cms.getusinfo.com/index.html

It's actually pretty confusing they have two identical sites on different URLs. Must be fun for the site admin. I sent them an email using the contact form this morning and my browser gave me a security warning saying the site certificate was not valid.

Go with this one: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/

The other HTTPS: version may be their development page? The Certificate used is not valid per my browser.

Yeah, I started with the http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn site, but after I sent the email (using their form) I got redirected to the https://guangzhou2.cms.getusinfo.com site, and that's when the browser warnings went off.
