We now have our K1 visa and our flight, so what do we do when my fiancee arrives in the US? What will meet her as she arrives in Seattle? What will we need to do after her arrival? I've done some research but you folks are awsome in all your experience that I'm sure you'll give some sound advise. Thanks for all the help!

Arrive in the USA.

 

Wait 2 weeks and the apply for SSN

 

Marry within 90 days of entry.

 

File I-485, I-765, and perhaps I-131, The fee is $1010 for all.

 

I-485 needs:

one G-325A from applicant,

I-693 (Vaccinations record ONLY done by a US civil surgeon)

I-864 OR I-864EZ (Affidavit of support from US Spouse/Petitioner) Can use Photo copies of financial evidence used for the I-134.

Photo copy of marriage certificate,

2 passport photos

photo copy of I-94,

Photo copy of I-129F approval notice

 

I-765 needs:

Photo copy of I-94

2 passport photos

Line 16 is coded (C )(9 ) based on pending I-485.

 

I-131 needs:

2 Passport photos.

 

Send the ALL together to the Chicago PO box specified by form I-485.

also, if she'll be added to your medical insurance, make sure you do that in the first 30 days she's here. otherwise the insurance company considers it "adverse selection" and you'll probably have to wait until the beginning of the next cycle...

Sounds like yer not flying with her. This is perfect time to clean the house.

 

Clean it twice.

 

Then clean it again.

 

Then bring in a crew to disinfect it.

 

All of the cleaning is useful, but if she's keeping house 'chinese style' then it'll never be clean enough. With the work you've done so far, before she arrives, at least she won't have any allergic reactions.

 

Got stuff from old relationships? throw it away now, or drop it off with a trusted friend.

 

Dump your emails to/from 'other females'. Make certain they are deleted. Make doubly certain they are deleted.

 

Copy your computer porn collection to a usb hard disk. Delete said collection from computer.

 

Throw away your underwear. Buy new underwear, black color only.

 

Throw away any clothes with holes in them (or convert to rags).

 

Buy clothes hanging / drying rack for the bathroom, to be used over the bathtub.

Thanks for the info, I have a Golden Retriever and he sheds like crazy. I've been working at de-furring my house. I've been working on cleaning up the place but I also plan on getting a cleaning company to come in and go through everything. I never thought of getting rid of old photos though. And what's this drying rack thing your talking about? Also thanks to everyone for the info about the tea. Since I've met Lancy and have been over to China a couple times, I've made the switch from a good cup coffee to green tea.

Some other thoughts - if you are inclined...

 

MAKE BIG POSTER with her name in Chinese Characters and 'welcome home'.. Bring to AirPort, act like a Fan of a RockStar.. Bring a small gift to airport, also.

 

She's gonna be exhausted when she gets in - and maybe hungry - so have some food ready, and clean sheets on the bed. She'll want and need a bath, so set out towels, shampoo and soap before you leave to pick her up.

 

The drying rack will help 'remind her of home' when she decides to do a few loads of clothes washing. You may not need, she may not think about it, but if it's there, and ready, can avoid any arguments of 'how to wash my panties and bra? '

hahaha....some good advice,i started cleaning my place.. WOW!!! what a wreck.now it looks like a different place....i have to wear shades its so bright.Ah,but I know the wife can get it brighter.
