Many of you are familiar with the Kingsoft application, that enables you to point to a word and see it's translation in English and Chinese. This is a valuable tool to our Chinese partners.

 

One of my colleagues at the office, pointed me to a link that provides a free alternative. You can go to the Web site and download the free application from here:

My wife uses this but has the retail Box version. works great both ways.

from english to chinese and from chinese to english.

 

It cost a bit $$$ but well worth it.

Downloaded this one and installed on wife's netbook, works great, however it does need internet connection to look some words up.

My wife downloaded a 30-day trial version of Kingsoft. She and I found the latest version of Kingsoft (Powerword 2009) has poor English pronunciation. Does this software, Youdao, have good pronunciation?
