Weather forecasts in China

For both practical reasons(given that I'll be spending most of my time in China this year), and because analyzing weather is sort of a hobby of mine, I'm looking for good sources of weather information for China. The typical places I'd go to in the U.S. are extremely unreliable for forecasts for China. Anyone have recommendations?

 

Things I'd like to locate:

 

1) Decent longer-term forecasts. Most of the forecasts I've found have been of the 48-hr variety. I haven't found a reasonable source of long-term forecasts yet.

 

2) Detailed short-term forecasts. I'm sure these exist, but I suspect they're usually not written in English.

 

3) Weather sites with detailed maps of precipitation/radar. As far as I can tell, there's not a solid national weather radar network, which makes me sad. If there is one, I'd love to know where I could look at it.

 

Mostly I'm interested in 2 and 3, as going somewhere, only to have it start pouring 2 hours later isn't all that fun.

I don't think you'll find anything, anywhere here that is extremely accurate unless it is in the south. In Guangzhou I'd get the Hong Kong forcast and that was pretty reliable also for Guangzhou.

The problem in Beijing, though, is that they seed the clouds so it can rain almost any time the local government wants it to.

I'm not sure this will give you the detail your looking for but my iphone pulls weather forecasts (not sure from where) and they have been right on since I've been living in Tianjin last year. I can only think of one day it wasn't. BTW... is there a technical term for dust/sand haze storm? If not we should make one.

Try this link. It has worked well for me in Qingdao, Shenzhen, Beijing, HK, Hainan, etc. in the past.
