Acer Aspire One - a good choice?

Recommended Posts

My wife wants to buy an Acer Aspire One mini-laptop with a 10" screen, Atom processor and 1G memory. She really likes a light-weight computer.

She does not intend to use the computer for games or graphics. She usually opens 3-4 windows at a time: one window for a Chinese translation software called Kingsoft Word, another one for Word document and 1-2 internet explorer pages. Will these windows cause Acer Aspire One to slow down substantially? How bad is it from a regular laptop in terms of computer response time?

Thank you for your input.

I compared the net books last summer and settled on MSI Wind U100 with 10" screen, atom CPU, blue tooth, 160gb hdd for my Yu, and it has been a great unit. It runs office 2007, and any streaming video program I can find like PP live, Skype, etc without any problems.

Can buy one from M-Wave. I bought one through My and Yu's webstore and got a little commission back on the sale.

The blue tooth is handy with bluetooth mice.

If you want to get some preferred customer points, and perhaps give Yu a commission create a free account on our webpage and then follow the link to any of the 2500+ online merchants like M-Wave, Best buy, Buy.com, New egg, Comp USA, Tiger direct, Dell, etc... http://yu-and-dan.com
