Lucky °®ÈË
Hello everyone, I hope things are going well for all here! I have a question. My SO went back to China to visit family and to take care of a financial issue. I won't go into detail as to how it happened but her Green card (10 YR) is now in three separate pieces. It is not damaged otherwise. I laminated for her so it will stay together. She plans to come here at the end of April. Our question is: Will she have any difficulty re-entering the US? If so, what should we do? I know we have to replace it when she is back here...at the cost of I believe $370! But will she be able to re-enter the US with the card as it is. I appreciate your time. Thank you very much. Link to comment
dnoblett
My suggestion would be to visit the nearest US consulate and ask. More than likely it wont be an issue. The consulate has a page about lost or stolen green-cards, not mutilated cards. http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/lo...green_cards.htm Link to comment
LeeFisher3
As it won't scan through the machine it probably will cause a problem on reentry, if nothing else an explanation will be required. Link to comment

Thank you gentlemen! I sent an email to DHC but I don't really expect an answer. The card fit together nicely like a puzzle. I would tend to think you could still scan it in the machine? At least we have the better part of two months to figure this out. Link to comment
Lucky °®ÈË
Well...she's home already. She cut her visit short. It is great to have her back with me! She said she had no problem entering the US at LAX. Link to comment

AH, no. They've been living together, apparently with the same fireworks as always - " I won't go into detail as to how it happened but her Green card (10 YR) is now in three separate pieces."
