Police Records from America

Recommended Posts

NO

Note: Present and former residents of the United States should NOT obtain any police certificates covering their residence in the U.S.

NOTE the Name checks at USCIS, NVC, and Consulate will take care of that for you.

My wife lived in America for 2 years. Does she need her police records? I assume that they would have pulled them during the background check. Any ideas?

This is not necessary, as anytime there is an arrest in the US (all states) and a booking/fingerprinting took place, it is recorded on the NCIC data base, which is maintained by the FBI.

This is real easy for USCIS, DOS, etc to access and this will be done in routine fashion for all applicants.

Even if a person is later not charged, or even acquitted, the entry remains in the data base. Again, this is for book able offenses, i.e. misdemeanors and felonies; traffic 'infractions' would not be included as a recordation in NCIC.
