Here we go again!!

Well folks tax time is coming up and i believe i might have a stupid question?

Maybe? maybe not?

The past two years i have filed married jointly and have always received a refund.

Well this year it is starting to look like I'm going to owe money.

I have tried to juggle the numbers the best i can but still looks like money out the door.

The only loop hole i think i found is the fact that we where married in China.

we have no marriage license on record in the U.S.

Now here is what i was thinking.

Maybe I'm Taking a risk here. :smartass:

What would be the risk if my wife and i file single?

If that would work, Then we would both get a decent refund.

DON'T DO IT! You have already claimed to be married to the IRS. WHICH RETURN DID YOU LIE ON?

The risk would be that they would notice. If you got a 1040 in the mail, it was addressed to you and your wife.

They notice.

Thanks Randy.

Thats what i figured.

I didn't lie on any of my returns.

Looks like I'll be writing a large Check this year $$$$$$

Yeah - I tried losing a lot of money in the stock market - THAT didn't even work.
