hello123
Hi, My wife and I are starting to go a bit crazy just trying to sort out the forms for AOS, EAD, AP, etc.... We keep getting hung up on questions that "should be" obvious but it never goes that way... For example, The I-485 package: I-693 - Do we go to the civil surgen for vaccinations now before we submit anything? Does it make a difference between a personal check or money order? We need to enter "yes" for the CCP issue. We just entered "Former Chinese Communist Party Memeber in China. From mm/year To mm/year." I think then we add the 1 page explanation we created for the waiver process? What do you think? G-325 - The spaces are not large enough to enter in the entire address A little "+" sign appears in adobe. Any ideas on fixing this? oh yeah, another headache is her parents date of birth has always been wrong from the original K-1 visa forms. The parent's ID cards show the incorrect date of birth which is where the problem began. We tried to update the package for the K-1 but never received an acknowledgement We would like it to be correct in case they try to travel to the US sometime.. Would some letter attached finally get the message across? I-864 package My wife gets thinks we need the I-797 but we always received the I-797c for the I-129. Is there any real difference? I-765 package: #16 I entered © (9) but there is not enough space to have "I-485 pending approval" in the next (). Do I just hand write it on the side? The I-131 package: Part 2 we checked "d" as she is a K-1 Visa holderPart 3 Do we just make up a date?Part 7 I am not certain what they want. Do I just say something like "K-1 Visa holder with Adjustment of status pending"? Also, we would like to check "More than 1 trip". I don't know...maybe I am just missing the obvious but we both have been looking around and around and the information is starting to merge in my head If you have any suggestions...such as "hire a lawyer" feel free to say it! Oh yeah, My wife arrived on Oct. 11th to US on a K-1 visa and we already are married with a SSN#. Thanks! Link to comment
dnoblett
I-693: I-485 directions state you "MAY" include the I-693 when filing, however if you do not, one of 2 things happens. RFE for the I-693 if CSC is working on the I-485, OR you will be requested to bring it to AOS interview. If either happen after beyond 1 year past visa medical you will be stuck doing a FULL I-693 insteand of just the vaccinations portion, at added cost. Personal check is recommended because it is easier to verify if and when it is cashed. Sometimes you can get petition numbers of the back of the canceled check, if your bank provides you with image scans of the check. Yes CCP is needed to be indicated, and USCIS may or may not require a waiver because this should have come up at the visa interview, NOTE form GNI-2 from the consulate: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/up...A/19._GNI-2.pdf G-325A: Try the Visa-Pro version it allows more space, OR simply hand write in the address. http://www.visapro.com/US-INS-Forms/G-325A-Form.asp Birth dates of parrents are not a major issue on the G-325A, this form is a support doc. I-864:(NOA 2) is NOT part of the I-864 package. I-864 or I-864EZ requires financial evidence (Copies of IRS returns or simple IRS transcripts, copies of Pay stubs, employer letter) We used I-864EZ and recycled the evidence used for I-134 for the K-Visa. I-765 Just (C )(9 ) this means Based on Pending I-485. I-131Part 2 Yes Check "D"Part 3 can make up a date if you have plans or simply note "Unknown"#7 needs nothing stated, because AP is an Interim Benefit of I-485 and needs NO justification. AP will be valid for 1 year you can travel any time during that year, just need to return before it expires. Good guide for this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aoshttp://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...&page=k1aoshttp://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3ead Also DO NOT share any evidence between the various applications, they need to be treated as separate applications so each requires it's own separate set of evidence and passport photos. hello123
Thanks Dnoblett! Again you know your stuff! We finally managed to crank out and mail the docs. Hopefully, everything will be smooth. I think one of our biggest problems was just working together. It always creates a problem when one person starts to talk and work on on doc and another a different one. Very difficult to maintain a line of thought that way I guess this is just one of the challenges of marriage that we need to work through. Link to comment
Randy W
For the birth dates, the legal birth date is shown on the ID. It is difficult to impossible to correct this. Most people go with the 'legal', rather than the actual, date. My wife's legal birthday (including here in the US) is Dec. 9, while she was actually born on Dec. 29. Like Dan says, though, not important for parents. Link to comment
