Prepare your I-864 or I-864EZ along with the required financial evidence.

If you are:

  • NOT using a Joint Sponsor.
  • NOT using asset data.
  • Sponsoring only ONE immigrant.

Then consider using I-864EZ

After I-130 NOA2, a month or so later NVC will send you the I-864 fee bill, you will pay $70 and return the I-864 or I-864EZ.

A month or so after that and NVC will send you "P3" requesting DS-230 along with intending immigrant's documents, at that time you pay the $400 visa fee, and send the items requested in the NVC packet.

Note you only respond to NVC IF you intend on perusing the CR-1 visa. If your intent is to just do K-3, then do not respond to NVC and let the I-129F pass through to consulate for K-3 interview.

I am just waiting for both the NOA-2's to hit the mailbox. What forms do I need to get ready, so at least I'm doing something. Do I need to send $470.00 with this next batch of forms.

I will ask all you elder filers, so I get this right !!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Guys & Dolls

Check the link below and follow the links there. Should be all the information you need. Just pay attention to the details. I think some that get denied is because they do not follow all the information, or assume that they don't need to include something. Anything not done are out of place or not included throws upi flags, so include everything and then some. I am not sure where you got the $470.00 number. What is it for?

Should I fill out both just in case they ask for one or the other. Do I put the wife's address in China on that form????

Both what? I-864 or I-864EZ

It is up to you which you chose to use not NVC. If you qualify to use the I-864EZ then use it. If you can check "YES" for a, b, and c in part 1 of I-864EZ then use I-864EZ. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864EZ.pdf

Yes you do list your wife's China address on form I-864(EZ) because it is asked for on the form.

Do I also need to have copies of the last 3 years of income taxes?????

If not, should I send them anyways, I just want to touch all bases on this petition. I don't want any foul ups on my part this time.

Call IRS and order simple IRS transcripts, and use them. If you use copies of 1040, you will need to attach things like 1099 and or W2 to prove the numbers on the 1040.

Past year is required, the other two just shows a pattern of continuous employment or income.

4506-T not needed simply dial the 800 number and order transcripts: http://www.irs.gov/faqs/faq/0,,id=199557,00.html
