Hanging On
My soon2B (20) stepson has a fiancee in China. Is there any easy, or fast way to get her here? I don't know much about the student visa requirements, or even the requirements for non-citizens. Link to comment
Sebastian
if stepson is usc, then he can file i-129f. takes from 7 to 13 months if no problems. if stepson is not usc, then we need more info. she can apply for tourist visa, who knows if approved? must show strong ties to china. she could join a travel group, easier to get tourist visa if she is young. usually student visas are initiated by a school in usa - find the big school close to you, ask about foreign student entrance requirements. if he is chinese and has green card , maybe faster and cheaper to send him back for 4 months, stay with grandma, visit with fiancee. There's some age bar, too - if he is usc, i think 20 is too young. Edited November 1, 2008 by Darnell (see edit history) Link to comment
LeeFisher3
His age is not a barrier, he is old enough to marry in the US. Unfortunately the K visa categories are for US Citizens only and he just arrived on a K-2. This will take a few years. Edited November 1, 2008 by LeeFisher3 (see edit history) Link to comment

Randy W
As an aside, if you haven't filed his AOS yet, make sure you get it in Monday. They have been known to punish some applicants who made the mistake of turning 21 before they were interviewed. edit: I just check your other thread. You were fully warned there.
