AmericanWoman
My guess is they don't believe you speak Chinese fluently enough in which to communicate with her. Even if you have been in schooling for years, that doesn't mean you can actually speak and understand the language. I am in a similar situation as you, I speak the language FLUENTLY, although I am a caucasian American. My man doesn't speak much English either. I would recommend that you send in a DVD or videotape of you speaking Chinese or upload a clip of youself on a website. That is what I did. Hope it is enough! How fluent are you? Good luck!AW Edited December 6, 2008 by AmericanWoman (see edit history) Link to comment

Good luck!AWA couple of years ago GUZ was regularly asking for a video of the couple communicating, which in most cases meant an emergency trip to China to make a video. I don't recall them making that request for a long time. In the OP's case, he should address the issues they marked and not add anything more unless it goes to the issue they raised concerning their relationship as it just opens the door for more followup questions. tsap seui
well this week will mark the 3rd month that we have been under AP...... Use their form and e-mail the consulate, buddy. Yes, you'll get that same form letter response from them, but you'll feel like you're doing something. And you will be making someone dig your case up off the floor and look at it. Ya just never know when some dolt is gonna pick it up and actually do something. There is no speeding those jokers up, you are in a marble game where the bullies have ALL the marbles. Good luck to you, I understand WAITING and my heart goes out to you for that, but I feel certain your lady will get the visa...no worries there. tsap seui Link to comment

Oh my, just the sound of those blessed words "continued processing" that I had to read from over 10 months of waiting and over 65 such idiotic responces to my e-mails, sends shivers down my back. "In "DOS SPEAK", "continued processing" stands for WAIT. The DOS is waiting to find any shred of evidence they can find to back up their speculation and conjecture that there is a fly in the ointment with your application. Good luck, hopefully you will get a positive conclusion to your wait. tsap seui Edited December 8, 2008 by tsap seui (see edit history) Link to comment
teatime21
I got a call from GZ this afternoon...... When I answered the Call the lady ask for my Fiancee(By the way in Chinese) , I:So I said my ÀÏÆÅLao po is out. (I was at home at the time and my Fiancee was out side. Since I have gotten used to calling my Fiancee Lao po that confused the the Lady on the other end.)GZ: "Lao Po" (I still had no idea who was calling.) I: asked her who she was and she said " I'm with the GZ US embassy". In my head I was like " ooooh Shit". GZ: asked who I was. I: said in English I was her fiance. GZ:She asnswered back in Chinese what was my name and birthday. I: relied back.*********** GZ:She said she called her home earlier and a old woman picked up but she could not speak Chinese. I: said ooooh, that was my fiancee's great grand mother who was 96 years old and has trouble hearing. GZ:Asked if we had a Chinese phone number( got me confused since it was a Chinese cell. number, then I told her that). GZ:She asked we were sharing the same number,I: said yes.GZ: The she asked where were we, I: replied hat we were at my Fiance house.GZ: Asked me if my fiaance bought the houseI: Replyied that it was her parents home in which we living inGZ: Asked how long was my fiancee in taishanI: ( was a little nervous) I said let me see, about 5 years i think.( couldn't get it off the top of head which was 7 years)GZ:asked how we were firt introducedI: I said that we were introduced by a friend. Thats how we met.GZ: Asked if I have property in Taishan.I: NoGZ: where did you live in taishanWent out side to get my fianceeI: With friends( didn't say but we usually share apartments with my firends while we in Taishan) GZ:What did you fiancee do in taishan?I: worked selling clothing, Secretary, etc. Found my FianceeGZ:Can I speak with your Ì«Ì«tai tai(Wife)I: Ok The GZ asked my wife how we met, how did I come to china, Do I work, Where do I get money, How Long I've been in China, How long she has been Taishan, Where are we, Told my fiancee that they called earlier and old woman answered...., and asked some other things I can't remember. The told my Fiancee that, "that was all, good bye". Call lasted about 11 min. I don't know if that was a good or bad thing?I don't know if me calling my fiancee my wife was a bad thing. Also me messing up on the amount of time my fiancee spent in taishan is going to hurt our case. I had a little drink before they called and i got nervous. Link to comment
warpedbored
Calling her your wife was probably a mistake. They may think you married while waiting for the K-1 and didn't tell them. Be prepared to explain that. She may need to get a new single certificate. Link to comment
teatime21
How was I supposed to know that they were going to call. Usually when I talk to someone who speaks English I say Fiancee and in Chinese I call her my wife since it's easier to say and a lot less explaining. Link to comment
Sebastian
'That Phone Call' - is good evidence that the case is moving along. It got to someone's desk, into that someone's queue, and that someone actually picked up the phone and called, made some notes in the case file. I'm not omniscient, but I'll bet NOW that this 'raw data' has been collected, a decision will be made, one way or the other. If it's positive, then I think you'll get a 'call-in letter'. Good Luck, whichever way it turns out. Stay positive, GO PINK! Link to comment
Kevin&Leilei
My fiancee and I have been calling each other ÀÏÆÅ and ÀϹ« for almost a year. She told me it's common for people in a serious relationship to call each other that, even before they are married. Hopefully the person who called you will understand that. Anyway, good luck!
