It's much cheaper, and I mean MUCH cheaper, I hear to do it in China as opposed to the US. Link to comment

dnoblett
We went to the med center on Shamain Island after getting the pink while waiting for the visa and got the required vaccinations, they issued a yellow book that we later took to a civil surgeon in the USA to get transfered to an I-693. They are much cheaper in China, I believe they cost no more than 300RMB. Link to comment
Sebastian
We're ready to come home in a week. We are having a problem getting the shots. What is the best way of getting them in the US? Would you still consider getting them in China ? Are you back in Wuhan ? If so, give my lao po a call - she has been in/out of hospital for last 8 weeks caring for various sick friends, maybe she has some info for you ? I've heard the rule has changed with USCIS in that you'll have to redo the complete physical exam, in addition to the vaccination, even if you've done the physical in China within the last 12 months. jim_julian
If you're getting immunizations in the US and they are not covered by health insurance, as mentioned above, try your public health clinic. The cost depends on where you live. We got shots at a public health clinic in California, I think it was a county level clinic (Orange county) and they were free ... to include some very expensive ones. Link to comment

Recently USCIS has updated form I-693 with updated directions for Civil Surgeons explicitly explaining that ALL K-Visas do not need a full physical. I-693: 2. What if I am a K nonimmigrant visa holder and already had a medical exam overseas? If you were admitted as a: A. K-1 fianc¨¦(e) or a K-2 child of a K-1 fianc¨¦(e), or as aB. K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen or a K-4 child of a K-3 spouse of a U.S. citizen, andC. You received a medical examination prior to admission, then- a. You are not required to have another medical examination as long as your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, is filed within one year of your overseas medical examination. b. You will, however, be required to complete Part 1, Information about you, and submit the vaccination section of Part 2 with your adjustment of status application. A designated civil surgeon must complete the vaccination section and Part 5, the Civil Surgeon's Certification. http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-693instr.pdf Link to comment
